cadance, while helpful, also seems like being a little presumptuous. i mean, all she had to do was ask if twilight liked holding rainbow down, and then ask why. she didn't have to make her sound like a psychotic dominatrix.
Edit: alright alright already! sheesh! i was just throwing out a mini rant to make me feel better! fine, she did it in a way i don't understand, but it worked. there, i said it! now please stop messaging me about this!
4791907 I think it's a case where she's prodding Twilight in order to get visceral, emotional reactions in order to gauge Twilight's attitude towards bondage. As Cadance points out, it can potentially result in a slippery slope, leading to an abusive relationship if done improperly. As the old saying goes, if you want to learn about another person, you should find what makes them angry. Thus, Twilight's outburst, expressing a complete rejection of the very idea that she would enjoy hurting and restraining Rainbow against her will served as confirmation that it, hopefully, shouldn't be a problem for them.
That was a great chapter I wonder If RD is still going to be offered the post as the leader of the Wonderbolts. I mean after all just because she is pregnant doesn't mean she has to give up on that dream I've met a lot of females in the military that have a command still be there for their kids and still have a successful career. It just means Twilight will have to do her best support RD as much as she can I WANT MOAR SOON! If that is alright with you
Me too! Happy ponies usually don't stay that way. And when they do it's usually done well.
“Wait, that came out wrong. Okay…how about this…
Yeah, that's the next thing I said too.
I turn myself into a stallion these days.” Although the weird part was…Twilight was starting to think she enjoyed it.
Ookay, that's enough internet for one day...
“It’s why I still have to experiment with magical formula and go by what spell books say instead of just wishing for something.”
Majesty just wishes for things and they come true. The G1 pony Celestia is based on, "I wish..." and her only limits is her imagination. She's a unicorn at that, putting Celestia to shame.
Then, Twilight Sparkle said the most romantic thing Rainbow Dash had ever heard. “You know what? Buck the schedule. I want to make love to you Rainbow.”
No-one ever said romance had to be pretty.
Cadence put her hoof on the door to stop it from being opened.
Knock first!
It was a proven scientific fact that the smaller ponies were cute.
Damn straight.
It was a proven scientific fact that the smaller ponies were cute. I mean…just look at the breezies. The entire race would have died out if it weren’t for their adorableness’s ability to counteract their whiny and useless nature!
Bitter much? But I agree, the Breezie's were useless, except for that one who was all, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home!"
ok so...i've read the story, i like the premise, i liked the first act almost enough to favorite....and then i got to the second act...
so end of the first act we got TS and RD finally letting out all those bottled emotions and then bam right from the get go they start bottling emotions again....
i'm sorry no nuh uh shenanigans, they learned to express themselves better, maybe not fully but enough as if to not start fill another bottle which there shouldn't be. You don't have them stop keeping things from one another and then go back to it
If the surprise is the Wonderbolts thing, there's going to be, in addition to all of the other problems, the teeny issue that, as far as I can recall, Twilight hasn't fixed the blacklisting yet. And while she can probably get it completely annulled and buried, I imagine that, until then, it's a matter of public record. And if the press gets ahold of it, say because they're digging around in the wake of the recent scandal with the main team...
Of course, no one is a villain in their own mind. Twilight thinks she acting with best intentions, and I think the author dose a good job at keeping that feel. Twilight is prone to obsessive behavior, it not surprising that she would do this with a relationship too.
I'm not sure if the author here will take this idea much further, but I think this setup is one of the best ways to make a Twilight "redemption arc".
4978347 Being a control freak is one thing and something that's very, very common for Twilight in Twidash stories. I have no problem with that (like for example her rigid bathroom schedule or diet for Dash) and can understand and appreciate Dash for putting up with it and can see Twilight's point of view for wanting it.
That's not the issue, the issue is Twilight seriously contemplating removing Dash's wings (or putting her in a magical coma, ect...) and the whole job blacklisting. I'm sorry but that goes way past "control freak" and into horror movie territory. Relationships have issues but when you're seriously considering taking away your partners very identity (and flight is one of the cornerstones of Dash's identity), not to mention their limbs and free will, that isn't a relationship problem... That's evil. That's the kind of stuff people can and should go to jail (or a serious mental health clinic) for and certainly their partner shouldn't be left with them.
That's why I say the author made Twilight unlikeable. Not because I can't imagine Twilight's OCD being taken to such an extreme but because I honestly don't know if I'll ever forgive her for taking it so far (nor can I necessarily imagine Dash realistically ever forgetting that Twilight could consider such a thing). Dash now needs to forever live in fear... Gah. And I like Twidash stories alot so it pains me to even think like that.
4978376 I totally understand what you are saying. Not going to lie some of it was... so far difficult to read in the sense that I feel Twilight wouldn't be THAT drastic... although I can honestly say that 'Love' can make you do stupid things. Either to yourself or maybe to another. It is not an excuse or reason for me as I feel you should do your best to be in control of yourself first type of mind-set. Though with this Twidash it was set as their cornerstone it seems for issues... although I feel that maybe 'Black-listing' Dash would of been enough of a cornerstone. One that is also able to be fixed a bit easier and less mentally scarring then taking a physical part of someone's being.
What was that book//movie that... uhm.. Stephen King? I think... gah, wrote... crazy lady captures an author and breaks his legs, holds him captive and etc., etc., this seems to be almost that level of psychotic episode(s). Which I like how it got toned down and it seems like Cadence is almost a Marriage Counselor at the moment... without marriage of course... but a bit awkward to be talking about things after... well.. yeah.
Agreeable though that Twilight was possibly accidentally made out to look... "evil" ish... instead of socially awkward but.... evil is a perspective and meant with intentions usually. Granted she should know it is wrong to do such acts... but eh, such a complicated ordeal at this moment. Just a personal thought, this NOT how I would progress the story but I am interested in where it goes.
ok more i need more have a like a fav, my bottle of jim beam, my first born child just for the love of god dont give this story up it must be completed
hooray for rope explanations and more candid conversations with cadence.
and somebeings really really need to learn how to knock.
so welcome back and I hope you keep on writing the good stuff.
if Candace is pregnant, that's gonna be... twilight, I think she just meant theyve gotten something for the foal.
Though I am curious to see if my first reaction, the same as twilight's, is correct or if my latter idea is correct. Latter I think is most likely

4791907 The reaction was important to see.
Good chapter. Glad to see you're not sweeping Twilight's issues under the carpet.

Actually... I think she did. She needed to get Twi to realize what she meant and, more importantly, get an honest reaction.
Sometimes the only way to get through is to present the unconscious desires to the conscious mind and see if it recoils or not.

Spike really needs to be kicked in the face here. A lot.

oh and no drama tag?

Thought you finished the drama last chapter.

Misery, is an excellent analogy.

Wow, that was a mouth-full.

The story you're describing is "Misery" and I actually mentioned it in this very thread when I was talking to someone else.

Well fancy that. >.< Lol!

That was fun. Looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work. Deus tecum.
we need another update!
