Excellent. Very excellent indeed. Question-Do you have Lunch with these characters once a month? It's like you got to know them on a personal level.

Heh-heh, it helps to find some kind of common ground with the characters and imagine what you would say or do in their position or perspective
8558087
I say Amen to that.
A tip: Imagine your characters as real characters. Have conversations with them. Have lunch with them. More secrets may be revealed.
Excellent chapter. I like how Chrysalis sees Lightning Wing, with everything that has happened to his family loosing not only his nephew but also his brother. he'd be so focused on his job, and his outreach programs that things could fly over his head and he wouldn't notice.
8558092
I completely agree with you on that one and being able to fit one's shoes helps.
I will admit part of this chapter blind side me rather hard, in the good way mind you.
8558138
Yep.
8558140
Oh?
8558229
Yeah namely in the court case, when Thorax named the other 'targets' I kind of jumped at that.
The more I thought about it, it makes sense especially the actors in play. Judge, Security and Defense, and an Examiner are very good key pieces to have on your side when it comes to over turning the ruling factors.
The downside to all this are the hidden side to each of the duke. Even weather as some of them keep things separate between work and home life.
While I would 'love' to knock Pipes teeth in for his antagonistic showboating. That doesn't mean he's like that behind the curtain. For Example Firestorm while working is very Military and blunt just the scene before the bout between Sombra and Midnight was rather calm and sneaky. Brass while normally calm can just as easy go off the rails if pushed. Its those details that would have to be found out otherwise the role would fall apart like Queen bug herself.
As for Aurora herself while I like to see her punished, I do hope for redemption for her character. Either through a selfless act or someting of the like.
The final few scenes to this, honestly was a more 'i wonder if they were going to show it or not' for me. I like the scene and it hads nice context to the couple, don't get me wrong. But I've seen scenes that leave it out and still have the context.
8558257
Yep.
8558270
lol
8558273
There's that. but now, have you any questions that need answering?
8558277
Its a more what happens next kind of thing. Imean I have a rough idea of the next arc/episode but I get a feeling that some silce of life chapters are going to happen with sliced in scenes of Sombra taking his new position and some of Thorax and sister in the Crystal Empire. Maybe a scene of two of background puppeteering for the next arc. Maybe a few chapters of location looking that will put on hold till the newest landmark is added and it leads into the wedding chapter happening there, before the next season kicks off. But thats mostly speculations on my part.

ah
8558287
I know I'm wordy when the mood strikes me.
8558290
No. "Ah" as in "Ah I get it".
8558293
I wasnt sure so I figure I should cover my bases just to be safe ^_^U
8558296
Tis fine.
I don't understand. How was chryalis was going t manipulate those four councilponies? I don't get it.
8559965
Ask NWRAlicorn, it was his idea
8558078
Wolven said to talk to you. I don't get what Thorax meant by manipulate those four targets. What does that mean?
8559974
Chrysalis has a cunning side. She wanted ponies who wouldn't be so carefree with their words and actions. She wanted ponies who'd be secretive and would fly under the radar.
The reason for the four "DUKES" is that they presented themselves as calm, composed individuals who could keep a secret and keep inquiring minds out. They were ideal for the betrayal and the capturing of Midnight as they were the last ones any of them would expect. I mean, if you were betrayed, would you expect one of the four most logical in the room to betray you? No.
She had to make use with Aurora, but, as the cliche goes "You can't trust a mare to do a colt's job". Granted there are some mares who can mask their aura and keep it hidden, but stallions and colts are much more adept at such tacts and it made them prime targets for such tactical maneuvers. She would have used them as gambits and tossed them to the wolves, getting what she wanted, a full take over of Equestria.
Now, as for the manipulation-she would have appealed to their reason and logic. When someone wants to manipulate those who are so engrossed with logic, they have to use logic to manipulate them.
8559989
Thanks. I guess now the crown has to figure out if Chrysalsis did get any of these other ponies to join with her. Thanks again.
8559992
Oh trust me-there's more than one way to skin a cat.
8559989
I would like to point out you not quite right with that. Namely the family or kidnapped love one. That is a purely emotional and illogical way of dealing with a logic pony by knocking them of their game. Cool and calm can only work so far and even the most garden or stone cold person can be knocked off their game. Just like Pipe did to Brass. It would have to be a pure power play of some sort but not a purely logical one.
8560410
But your thinking obvious, not subtle. She would consider it, but it would bring more trouble than it's worth. She was thinking more subtly.
Think like her. She was too obvious at the outset and the first attempt of the invasion. What would you do? Use the same tacts? No. That would be too clear cut and obvious to your enemy. Kidnapping their loved ones? Too obvious. She would go for a more subtle tact, appealing to the more subtle side of everything. It's like a murderer committing an obvious murder for the obvious reasons, but imagine said murderer committing said murder but hide it under something else, a false obvious.
Is it just me? or does anyone else empathize with Aurora. I mean this is the land where Twilight forgives everything.
I just find it hard to be mad at her especially with how she did it more for her children than for herself. A bit selfish but really who wouldn't that in her situation.
Also, Luna was banished but she is immortal and she may not have even been aware, This probably punished Celestia more than Luna.
Luna made bad choices too that likely led to far greater deaths.
The same goes for Sombra as for Luna, and unless the whisperer is irresistible that really isn't an excuse.
Seems like a double standard in the context of ponies.
Okay. Steven universe reference.
