Why is that story called “The One Who Got Away?” · 7:40pm Sep 11th, 2019

Well, to tell that story, is to tell another one.

I can’t remember who I was chatting with (either Ghost or Bad Horse, I believe) when I brought up the concept of three sons inheriting a barony, where one got everything to the east side of the river, the other got everything to the west side of the river, and the third one got smart and took the river, which was the most valuable.

And then Ghost or Bad Horse said “And it’s full of seaponies, right?”

Everfree Northwest 2019 and book sales 5/8/2019 · 11:59pm May 8th, 2019

Getting things all set up for my trip to Everfree Northwest next week while working on my Bronycon Bookstore books, and I got to wondering. Will anybody be at EFNW who can’t make it to Bronycon, who also wants a copy of one of the three books (thanks to Iisaw) that I’ve got set up? I think I can wedge 12 copies into my airline luggage and still have underwear space, which would be about 4 copies of each. (cont.)

Bronycon Bookstore - River is Coming · 9:57pm Mar 16th, 2019

Ordered my proof copy to see just how my formatting looks on The One Who Got Away/Drifting Down the Lazy River. So in about 2 weeks, I'll know roughly where I stand and what I need to go back and fix in the Word primary document. (and I fixed *two* typos while making this last pass.) So we're getting there. If you're interested, the Lulu final file I submitted is here on my Google Drive. I managed

The Trials and Tribulations of Georg and Lulu · 3:15am Mar 7th, 2019

For those of you who don't know, Lulu is the self-publishing company that many of us are doing our Bronycon Bookstore books on. It's a bit arcane with some fiddley bits, which I'll whine about below the break (with a sneak peek at drafts of the printed version)

Hearts and Hooves and Georg’s Self-Promotion · 3:20am Feb 15th, 2019

In honor of this day, I got the wife a small box of chocolates, I’m getting you some shameless self-promoting story plugs, and I got myself some needed time working on cleaning up my older stories. Oh, and Iisaw put together a cover for my Bronycon Bookstore double-story entry, which I’m listing next:

First Draft vs. Second Draft as an example in my Royal Coffee story · 4:41pm Jun 15th, 2017

One of the eternal questions we face is "How do I write good emotional stories?"
One of the eternal problems with that question is that everybody handles the problem in a different way. For example, my notes on The One Who Got Away were barely a page long before I started writing.

Below, I've got an example of First Draft/Second Draft from my story in progress, Her Royal Morning Coffee. Caution: It's a little racy.

Drifting Down the Lazy River - Publication · 3:30am Feb 4th, 2017

Edited: I'm done transferring the story to Fimfiction right now, and after due consideration of the comments, I've decided to publish on Monday when the site traffic picks back up. So, 10:00 am CST, on 2/6, the twenty chapters start going up, one per day. Maybe two on Monday if I'm feeling generous, since Chapter 1 is a little short.

Simply put, other than a little last minute top to bottom editing (hint, hint, to the editing team) I’m ready to start publishing Drifting Down the Lazy River, except for the cover art. I had promised Pen Mightier first crack at it, but he’s been offline for several weeks and I haven’t gotten a response back. Since I have the artistic talent of a broken tree limb, I’m starting to explore my options. (No, it’s not like having Prom night sneak up on you without a date. Drifting doesn’t have a

First, I'd like to thank Chris and his site, One Man's Pony Ramblings for a nice review of The One Who Got Away. I like to think it's one of my better stories to date, even if you don't adore cute little unicorn-seapony fillies with big eyes. There will eventually be a Huck Fin/Tom
