Letters arc complete and posting Monday with Chapter 10 of The Knight, The Fey Maiden, and the Bridge Troll too

I have up to Chapter 99 complete in Letters From a Little Princess Monster, which is a little embarrassing since I *started* the arc in the middle of Covid season. It could have graduated from several universities in that time. Rather than tease bits out of it like I have before, I'm just going to go straight into my daily publishing routine and let you catch up on where I am on The Knight, The

Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Big Leather Egg Sunday

A reminder (as John Cleese put it) that today is Big Leather Egg Sunday, and to celebrate, I'm linking the Best Football MLP story of all time by Kris Overstreet. Starring... Rarity?

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

Drifting Down the Lazy River - Publication · 3:30am Feb 4th, 2017

Edited: I'm done transferring the story to Fimfiction right now, and after due consideration of the comments, I've decided to publish on Monday when the site traffic picks back up. So, 10:00 am CST, on 2/6, the twenty chapters start going up, one per day. Maybe two on Monday if I'm feeling generous, since Chapter 1 is a little short.
(preview below the break)

Long Description:
A frustrated young orphan colt with a talent for painting is determined to run away from his dead-end rural village for the distant cultural haven of Baltimare. All he needs to do is slip aboard a raft and drift down the river Fen until he reaches his destination. It’s a simple plan, and would have worked just fine except for one thing.

Seaponies.

Editors: Tek, Docontra, Themaskedferret

Welcome to the sequel of The One Who Got Away, a quiet story of the river Fen, and the young unicorn who finds his new barony to contain several surprises. For starters, there is no land in his new barony. Secondly, his new castle turns out to be a broken-down riverboat. And third is… seaponies.

In this sequel, we find ourselves following the trek of a much younger colt named Turpentine, who has decided to seek his destiny by floating a raft down the river Fen to Baltimare, where he will become a famous painter. There's just one minor obstacle in his way...

I'm a big fan of Sunday publishing. For this story, I'd say cut it loos tomorrow around noon to three. A sequel to a popular story will get a lot of hits. You can pad your heat by publishing 2 or 3 chapters on day one.

Wow.:rainbowderp: This is the first time I've even thought about the level of site traffic as a factor. Learn something new everyday:derpyderp2:

4408747 Oh, there have been several blogs on attempting to game the exact moment and day to release a fic to maximize readership. Back when it was basically a crapshoot to time a release, I had one come out at 2AM and I think it still only has a hundred hits.

What story?

I'd recommend publishing a chapter per day. I would expect that would give a greater chance of reaching the Front Page and ensuing visibility.

That high-pitched *SQUEEEEING* sound that may or may have not shattered all your expensive glassware and set your dogs off?

That was me!
(sorry!).

Looking forward to it!
:pinkiehappy:

4408807 I think Journeys. It's been a while. And it's free verse, so that's probably... a lot of it.

4408812 also start it on Monday

I would say Sunday with a few chapters at once.

I just read the first story because of this blog. God damn, Georg, why must everything you write be so god dang good?! I'd say whenever you wish to release is fine, I know I intend to eat it up. Only complaint about the first story is that, despite a Romance tag, you don't actually get to it! Blasphemy!

Seriously though, glad to have reasons to read more Georg stories.

2.185 followers aren't enough to get any story to the front page? I'm confused, I don't understand. :rainbowderp:

Wait, site traffic drops during the weekend? And here I thought I'd be clever by publishing a story on Super Bowl Sunday.
...
You know, in hindsight, people might be doing something tomorrow. :twilightsheepish:

As for your story, I say go with whatever you feel is right. If all else fails, flip a coin. If you're disappointed by the result, go with the other option.

I followed you just so I wouldn't miss this sequel. The times I check the site the most are the weekend and weekday nights, because I have an 8am to 5pm job. Hope that helps. :applejackunsure:

4408951 If it makes you feel better, I couldn't tell you when site traffic peaked or fell if you held a gun to my head :P

I can't believe I forgot Superbowl Sunday tomorrow, when everybody is going to be watching football.

And commercials

And, of course, the shows

(for those of you too young to remember, Michael Jackson was the undeniable King of Pop Music, an amazing performer who drew huge cheering crowds on stage and off, and who undeniably loved children. Perhaps, sometimes a little too much.)

Omg must read!

Yay! I can't wait to read it. Your a master of soothing atmosphere, subtle moods and painting pictures with words.

4409258 I'll be waiting. Are we going to get to see some proper romance develop between our prior protagonists at last? Really wanting to see how things develop there and with the barony that 'doesnt' officially contain seaponies.
