Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Big Leather Egg Sunday

A reminder (as John Cleese put it) that today is Big Leather Egg Sunday, and to celebrate, I'm linking the Best Football MLP story of all time by Kris Overstreet. Starring... Rarity?

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

Merry 2023 Hearth's Warming greetings and fic recommendations

Once again it's that time of year, when families gather around those we hold dear. Christmas is upon us, with words of good cheer, written below and organized here. I'm copying most of a previous blog of Hearth's Warming and recommended fics, so let's get started with a heart warming cartoon from Vivziepop, and the rest of recommendations below the break. (which I'm editing at the moment so it

Emily Post of Artist Etiquette · 1:58am Feb 1st, 2017

Simply put, other than a little last minute top to bottom editing (hint, hint, to the editing team) I’m ready to start publishing Drifting Down the Lazy River, except for the cover art. I had promised Pen Mightier first crack at it, but he’s been offline for several weeks and I haven’t gotten a response back. Since I have the artistic talent of a broken tree limb, I’m starting to explore my options. (No, it’s not like having Prom night sneak up on you without a date. Drifting doesn’t have a concrete publication date yet.)

First, here’s the adorable image of Ripple that Pen Mightier did back about a year and a half ago.

Now this is a Huckleberry Finn parallel, so I’ve got this mental image of a four-piece puzzle floating on the water with silhouettes of Ripple and Turpentine in opposite corners, with their cutie marks (a cloud and a paint pallette) on the other two pieces, with the title across the front in Comic Sans and… See why I told you I don’t have any artistic talent? It would be a massive mess.

So I went out on the internet. Mistake. Seriously, try Google searching “Pony on a raft” and see what comes up. I did find some nice raft pictures, though. First, there’s a Getty Images picture of a raft used in a bunch of places including Duke University.

That’s a possibility. The second one I found just blew me away.

Isn’t that awesome? Took a little bit of Google reverse-searching, but I tracked the uncropped original down to Andy Thomas Fine Art. Seemed like a possibility, so I looked it up.

Um. Anybody got $29,000.00 to spend on an oil painting?

This painting is being sold through Cherry's Custom Framing and Art Gallery, located in Carthage, MO. For more information on this piece, you may contact the gallery directly.

I got some drier lint and 37p in pocket change. I could purchase a stamp for your envelope to mail the cheque in. If you can get 499 other people to purchase some art work via mail in order, I could batch all your letters together and presort them and get you a first-class presorted bulk-mail discount.

4404805 Hm. I've got some children I can throw into the deal. Hardly used. Very low mileage. One of them hardly leaves her chair in front of the TV. :pinkiehappy:

(By the way, the artist *does* give permission to use certain artworks images for certain purposes. I dropped him a note, just in case MLP is one of those.)

I love old oil paintings. they get a sense of... style to them you cant really capture anywhere else. If i had that much money id buy it myself lol

for the story though, i would use the Ripple artwork. shes just to darn cute not to use

I'm sure if you offer him $28K he'll be willing to work with you.. .

:rainbowlaugh:

On the other hoof...yay sequels!!!! :pinkiehappy:

your post was like TL:DNR

Best guess is, you like the idea of a silhouette created by the morning light background, with the washed colors of a storm approaching, And, you want to see giant puzzle pieces with transparencies of character images within...

I know why you can't get commission takers. The Comic Sans would literally ruin everything. and you have to draw like 5 or 6 images then overlay and distort. That takes way more than an hour that's like ten. Plus, that doesn't even address the kind of Bob Ross or watercolor simulated details that would make it totally epic. You'd need at least two artists to get it the way you want it and then you want to ruin it with comic sans.... and if i'm wrong in assuming that was what your post implied (or was about) then I apologize.

Hm. I've got some children I can throw into the deal.

That might pose some problems. You definitely will not be able to use a machinable first-class automation presort. You will need to use Commercial Mail Parcel as per DMM 250. This opens a whole other set of issues with mailing permits and container/pallet regulations laid out in DMM 705 that you will need to check for compliance.

Fortunately you have probably already met to minimum pricing eligibility requirements for Parcel Select Ground: 50 pieces or 50lbs minimum in a singe mailing as per DMM 250.4.2.a

Wow, that is an amazing painting. I like the style.

I'm sure I've seen that oil painting depicted inside or on the cover of a Huckleberry Finn book.

Seriously, try Google searching “Pony on a raft” and see what comes up.

I tried and the third result is quite surprising.

Pssst, Google, that's not ponies.

Do you care about your kidneys? I heard that black market is looking for some.

Or why don't you try this one?

How's that it doesn't fit your pony story?

Your page break failed...

Still a cute Ripple picture.

I literally live less than ten miles from Mark Twain's Connecticut home, so your story idea amuses me. And I have read Huck Finn but I read it too young (13-ish) and not much stuck with me about the story.

4405455 It must not have liked the capital letters.
4405960 It's never too late to re-read it. It's available online.

Already have it on my e-reader. I just have to be in the mood to read it.

Wow those horses must be very well trained and trust their owners a lot. What interesting pictures.
