Well, it's been 10 days since The Lawyer and The Unicorn (T-rated version) was released, and the response to it has been extremely tepid at best. To this point, in fact, it's underperformed even my low expectations, garnering less than six comments and an even worse upvote-to-downvote ratio than TLaTU-M. I wasn't expecting a blockbuster performance by a T-rated rerelease of an already-completed M-rated story, but I also didn't think that readers would be so few.

The early chapters especially need the latter as I read some of the stuff I wrote back then and wince. No more violet unicorns, more showing and less telling, and fewer ellipses, which I had tendency to severely overuse back then.

I've got myself a new job! After deciding it was time to move on from my current job over the July 4 holiday, I posted my resume and got a lot of interest on it. A milestone I'm very happy to reach, some three-plus years after its initial publication. In some ways, it's paradoxical--TLaTU is easily my most unpopular story in terms of like/dislike ratio, yet also my most commented-on one, not counting Turnabout Storm which wasn't originally mine. I daresay it's also my most ambitious and accomplished for bringing the impossible ship to life believably.
