TLaTU-T + 10 days... · 6:26pm May 24th, 2018
Well, it's been 10 days since The Lawyer and The Unicorn (T-rated version) was released, and the response to it has been extremely tepid at best. To this point, in fact, it's underperformed even my low expectations, garnering less than six comments and an even worse upvote-to-downvote ratio than TLaTU-M. I wasn't expecting a blockbuster performance by a T-rated rerelease of an already-completed M-rated story, but I also didn't think that readers would be so few.
That said, I don't regret doing it, because one thing the new release has done is pull some new readers into TLaTU-M and especially the original Turnabout Storm novelization. I've picked up ten new likes on TAS since TLaTU-T was released, and consider it worth it for that fact alone. So the story stays despite the anemic response, and given the (usually) low effort it requires of me to convert a single chapter from M-rated to T-rated, I will continue to release new chapters for TLaTU-T at the rate of generally one per day. At that pace, the story will be completed in about three weeks.
What conclusions can we draw from this? Well, the simple fact that sex sells, and I no longer think that releasing two versions of a story (one M-rated and one not) at the same time is a good idea because that will split interest between them that might resulted in a better launch and more heat for one version. This was an interesting experiment, but one I don't think I'll repeat.
If, by any chance, some of you were waiting for the trial to start before reading, wait no longer. It's here. Titled The Heart's Turnabout, it's as suspenseful a trial as any Ace Attorney case has ever been, with very unique characters and stakes. Regardless, I'd like to thank everyone who did read or upvote, and especially the new readers the story attracted to the Turnabout Storm novelization.. Thanks for following, and hope to see you on my other stories!
Splitting the views is generally a bad idea. At best, you can mark the sex sections, and those readers that do not wish to read them will appreciate that.
Also, a tepid response is expected for a novel that is released fairly rapidly. You basically have to get lucky with the new story updates section.
I'm just churning through some other stories at the moment.
I have read every chapter of TLaTU-T, yet didn't feel the need to comment on every chapter.

I agree. But I think I’ve gotten a good suggestion for how to handle it going forward. I’ll be posting about that a bit later.

Np. I appreciate the interest regardless.

Nor do I expect one; I just like to hear that people are enjoying the story once in a while. Thanks for the comments you did leave.
