Review: The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) · 11:43pm Jun 10th, 2016

The Coen Brothers, eclectic as always, take on film noir in this hyper subdued, intentionally self serious yet absurd deconstruction of the film noir genre, where, in playing the standard tropes and motifs of the genre dead straight, stretching them to the point where they snap back on themselves. It's a dense, cerebral film, and one that, while lacking the gonzo charms of, say, O Brother, Where Art Thou? or The Hudsucker Proxy, still manages to be a fascinating work of art, and a

Can't. Stop. Dying... · 8:39pm Sep 29th, 2017

I have only one excuse for why the latest chapter of Regarding: Gary Stu is taking so long.

Dark Souls 3 went on sale not long after I posted the last chapter and that game is addictive as crack.

So yeah, I'd say I'm about half done with the newest chapter, sorry for the delays folks!

How Could WE Not? It Does Take Two, After All. · 4:47am Jul 21st, 2023

"I mean if she were your sister how could you not?"

Exactly, unknown, yet fiendish, Twitter user! Exactly!

And our parents attempting to keep us apart just means I ended up getting a used pregnancy test in the mail.

I honestly don't even think people are supposed to send things like that using the postal service, because um, biohazards or something along those lines.

Reminds me of that all the times, a guy had to crush up those morning-after pills to slip them into his younger sister's cereal, the next morning, like, before school, on the weekend or whatever.

BECAUSE SHE JUST REFUSED TO SAY WHETHER SHE'D TAKEN IT ALREADY OR NOT!!

It's not a game and it isn't funny.

It certainly won't be very funny when mom and dad find out about it!!

Red pill, blue pill? · 9:29am Oct 5th, 2020

I wonder if people are going to hate me... even more, once they find out that I'm probably Cozy Glow's father...

What's with all the talk of variously colored pills?
I say the only good pill is the pill, that keeps your secret relationship a secret. Birth Control!

Mom: WHY IS MY DAUGHTER PREGNANT?!
Son: A miracle? Like Jesus?
Dad: WHO'S THE FATHER?!
*Girl nervously glances at her brother*
Daughter: God?

Review: Intolerable Cruelty (2003) · 7:59pm Jun 14th, 2016

Okay, I'll admit it right off the bat. This film is, very much, an example of "minor" Coen Brothers. The story for the film was actually devised by Robert Ramsey and Matthew Stone (no, not that Matt Stone), and was shopped around for several years to directors such as Jonatham Demme and Ron Howard, before the Coen Brothers themselves finally picked up the project, and wrote the last draft of the screenplay. So, in that way, it's true that this film is perhaps the closest they've gotten for

Review: Burn After Reading (2008) · 8:43pm Jan 18th, 2016

Burn After Reading is the Coen Brothers sarcastic and intentionally screwball riff on the notoriously straight laced genre of spy thriller. Intentionally taking the multitudes of tropes and plot points that fill the genre and playing them for pure absurdity, the film revels in it's madness and lack of logic, in a way that really, only a Coen Brothers film can.

Example: Sister Dances With Brother POV Ver. · 5:08am Dec 22nd, 2020

If anyone really needs the reasons why your sister is the way to go... all the way, naturally. And yes, it's natural, it's much more natural than some of you out there.

Just imagine Fluttershy's your sister.
You invite her to the dance because "you two have the same group of friends". At least, that's how you'll need to portray it in front of your parents.

She accepts because, you know, the two of you are, like, totally a thing... and exactly what it sounds like.
