By some distance my favourite Fox Brothers episode, although that's not saying a lot. I'm not always a huge fan of Discord eps (I've never much cared for "Three's a Crowd") but this one was really nice. Sweet, simple and amusing, and with a really nice portrayal of Discord and Fluttershy's friendship. Talking of 'Shy, it's really nice to see her get a good ep after the meh of "Fluttershy Leans In". I didn't dislike it...but it certainly wasn't my favorite season premier in general. While there were quite a few good moments...idk...something about these new episodes seemed...off kinda...I can't really explain. Nonetheless I enjoyed them both. Can't wait for next week's episode.

That was... well, it passed the time, I guess. I liked it more than "Party Pooped", but that's not saying much. I'm just not a big fan of the yaks, and this didn't really make me change my mind. Besides, it was basically "Appleyak Season", but without even a quick callback -- despite the relevant pony being in the episode. My review/recap blog for the season finale won't go up until Sunday after the encore airing. I'm going to watch it tomorrow (I'm pretty sure I am, anyway), but tomorrow also happens to be my birthday, and it's very likely that immediately after the finale airs, I'll be tied up in birthday stuff for the remainder of the day.

Look, I don't care, all right? I'll fret about how the Pillars might change the show's dynamics later. Right now, I just have a warm fuzzy glow from seeing the Mane Six use the Elements again. Everything else is secondary. I'm so happy. ★★★★★

Seriously, you need to watch this. It's the sort of thing The Hub might have produced.

This episode seemed to go on forever, and not in a good way. The pace felt like "Fluttershy Leans In", but without Fluttershy. My least favourite ep of S7 so far. Sorry, Fox brothers -- you still don't have the best record with me. ★★

A bit of a mess, really, though often an enjoyable mess. One particular oddity regarding vocabulary and a few missed opportunities, but a fun song and some decent silliness. I don't ask for literary brilliance from the show, so this scraped a pass from me. ★★★ (just)

No, not Aragon's nearly identically titled story. This is the latest episode, which I resisted the urge to watch early. It's reasonably fun, too, if no classic. I liked the legend and the accompanying animation style, but Rainbow is stupid at a crucial time and the victory method seems unforeshadowed. Also, how did they not recognise Caballeron? Still, fairly entertaining, and Pinkie was good. ★★★

Well, since I watched the leaks that came out last weekend, I can confirm that there are no more songs coming.

Wow! Okay, is it me or are we getting a lot of episodes about parenting this season? Generally watchable and fun, but a step down from last week. Ember was good, if even more tsundereish (or whatever. I don't speak anime) than usual. Thorax was moderately interesting, which is the best we've had from him yet. Spike was Spike. One very amusing running joke involving Twilight and Starlight. Not bad, but not amazing. I guess it shades into a ★★★.

After watching this weeks episode, I can say that I emphasize hugely with Princess Luna. As someone whom has worked a night shift job I can explain exactly what Luna's night is like.

1) The job is BORING. You will get lonely, and you will start talking to yourself to keep your mind active. If anyone catches you and says that you're acting weird, just them that you do it because you prefer intelligent conversation.
