Look, I don't care, all right? I'll fret about how the Pillars might change the show's dynamics later. Right now, I just have a warm fuzzy glow from seeing the Mane Six use the Elements again. Everything else is secondary. I'm so happy. ★★★★★
I give it 6/5 stars. I loved it. This was right up there with A Canterlot Wedding.
Yup! Epic!
Honestly one of the most enjoyable finales for a while. It took me a second to work out why, but I realised that things were being slowly soured by loose ends since Season 4.
I think this felt so satisfying because we got answers to so many questions. We know where the Elements came from. We know why the tree and the castle and the table are all things. We met Starswirl and he was a DICK! And it was great!
The fandom has had many theories of a previous 'mane 6' who may have wielded the elements (usually involving the Princesses), but it's cool we now have a canon version of said figures.
I loved this finale. I loved it because it tied up loose ends, or at least it feels that way.

I was delighted that Starswirl didn't turn out to be some twinkly old gent. He's basically Pony Gandalf, so he needed an edge to him.
