State of the Unicorn: Poor · 9:48pm January 21st
That's poor in both senses, I'm afraid! Though before I say any more, I need to stress that I have a warm, safe home, enough to eat, internet access... the essentials, really. I am not in danger of losing those. However, I won't be doing much beyond those essentials for a while. Without going into boring details, I will very shortly be going in for dental work to be done. Which, as we're not just talking a quick filling here, means dental bills as well, and they won't be small. (I live in England, so it won't be American numbers, but still a significant hit I could really have done without.) As such, non-essential spending will be very, very tight indeed for a while. It won't be much fun and I'm not happy, but I'll cope.
So, how is this going to affect me when it comes to ponyfic? Well, right now I won't be in the right frame of mind to write any for a bit. I was hoping to get something written, even just a thousand-worder, in the next month or so but I think that's now very unlikely. I certainly do hope I can publish something this year, but that really will need life to stop throwing rotten veg at me. Reading and reviewing ponyfic is easier, and so I would expect to keep that up most of the time, with perhaps only the odd week's break if things get on top of me or (as may happen) I just need a change of scene for a short while.
Life gets in the way like that sometimes. Little we can do but take it head on, and continue to carve out the fun relaxation when we can.
How much or how little Pony you do outside of the regular reading and reviewing this year, bud (writing and cons alike!), we totally understand. And will be right here when it all lightens up again. Best of luck with it!
