I think Twilight's best pony because I relate to her the best.

Wild Fan Theory: “Forever Filly” · 3:01am May 14th, 2017

Wow! Okay, is it me or are we getting a lot of episodes about parenting this season? I mean, the first episode was about letting your loved ones go and how they’ll always have a place for you in their hearts even as they are growing into better people. The third one was about how important it is to give a loved one proper care and attention rather than taking on more than you can chew just to prove that you’re Superhuman. I’m counting the fourth episode. If you want to know why, just read my last blog post. Now, we’re getting an episode about dealing with how a loved one can change as they get older. That’s two thirds of the episodes that have aired here in the States, and going by the title of the next episode, we’re probably getting another one next week.
It’s not that these episodes are unenjoyable. In fact, I quite LOVED “A Flurry of Emotions,” but I’m a little curious as to why the show staff felt the need to teach small children about what it’s like to be a parent. Did someone or several someones on the staff go through a crisis or something? Did a writer or three have their first grandchild as the show was being produced? Did somebody’s kid leave for college or get married?
I could be wrong about this, but I feel like these episodes are the product of people on the staff reflecting on parenthood. Maybe someone went through a crisis and helped create a few of these episodes as a way of reassuring themselves that they made good with their lives. Maybe somebody had a child that went through a major transition, and making these episodes was a way to express his or her love and possibly pass along a few life lessons along the way. I definitely could be reading too deep into this, but these are some nice thoughts.

it could be addressing the older fans, or maybe help the younger fans get some perspective on what things can be like when they get older and how a healthy relationship with their parent figure should look like once they reach the point Sweetie Belle and Twilight reached. As for Flurry of Emotions... it's Baby Cakes done right.
