A New Contest? · 9:31pm Jul 13th, 2018

What's up guys!

So, we're getting further into summer (and Bronycon!) and I was thinking about doing another fanfiction contest to carry us through the end of the season and into Fall. I'm sure some of you remember my last one, The Two-Faced Charade Contest. That one went so well and gave the site so many interesting story concepts and I'd love to do it again.

Arista album discography: Early CD era. · 5:31pm Oct 17th, 2016

Arista got into making CDs relatively early, beginning to do so in 1983. Their first CD, Side Kick by the Thompson Twins, was carried from its LP counterpart Quick Step & Side Kick (in fact many of their earliest CDs were carried over from vinyl). The earliest CDs from Arista, much like their earliest albums, were reissues of previously released product.

Since the finale is tomorrow... · 11:17pm Nov 27th, 2015

Alright, so below the cut, I will be discussing what I think about the coming finale. Enter at your own risk. Also, I'll mention the album "It's A Pony Kind of Christmas", since I've been listening to it since last night. I mention this because I don't what your religious affiliations are or what your initial opinions of the album are, so I'm bringing it up in case.

RCA UK Album Discography: 27000 series (2) · 10:24am Oct 11th, 2016

In 1958, RCA released the film soundtrack of South Pacific, which was based on the musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, which had been first staged nine years earlier; Rodgers and Hammerstein had much say in this recording, with many of the songs performed by accomplished singers rather than the actors in the film. Mitzi Gaynor and Ray Walston were the only two leading performers who did their own singing in the film (and on the soundtrack album). The roles of Emile

RCA UK Album Discography: 27000 series (1) · 3:38pm Oct 6th, 2016

RCA is a company worthy of salutations, for it invented the 45 RPM record in 1949. The roots of the company lie in the formation of the Consolidated Talking Machine Company, of Philadelphia, Pa., by Eldridge R. Johnson. To begin with, Johnson issued records on his 'Improved Gram-O-Phone Record' label. After a court battle with a rival, from which he emerged successful, he incorporated the company as 'Victor'; this was in 1901. He joined forces with Emile Berliner, and in 1902 their new Victor

Bitch I can't believe I'm up this early · 1:26pm Aug 8th, 2016

I woke up at 7:45 :facehoof::raritydespair: (raritydespair should be called :despairity:). At this time of year, that is what we call ass o'clock. I had to take the car to the mechanic since I'm the only other person left in the house with their license. I listened to the R&B channel on the way there and it was pretty good. When I got home, I ate leftovers. They were so good! It was fish, almonds, and olives. I found this shit.

Arista album discography: Later years, pre-RCA Music Group · 1:02pm Oct 18th, 2016

In 2000, Arista celebrated its 25th year as a record company. The year was marked both by joy and misfortune: both involved Clive Davis. The joy came in the fact that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer. The misfortune came via L.A. Reid: BMG put him in the seat long-occupied by Davis at the end of the year. Not one to give up so easily, he started J Records, an independent label with financial backing from Arista parent Bertelsmann Music Group. BMG would buy

MCA Records UK Album Discography: 2600-2799 (1975-77) · 9:54pm Oct 4th, 2016

At the beginning of 1975, around MCF 2615, MCA made an awkward jump in its cataloguing sequence in the UK, right into MCF 2665, which was a reissue of Camel's debut album. Camel was a progressive rock group from Surrey whose debut album was their only album released on MCA; their subsequent albums, up until 1984's Stationary Traveller, were all issued on Decca (with their second, Mirage, having been issued on Decca's Deram subsidiary).
