No Olvidar Jamás / Never Forget · 11:27pm Sep 10th, 2016

Once de Septiembre. September eleventh.

This is a date of tragedy. A moment that will go down in history as the turning point when a country was shot in the spine and its people suffered the consequences. We remember this day bitterly as the moment when a foreign force thought we deserved punishment for the high crime of thinking, acting and living differently from them.

9/11. · 12:55pm Sep 11th, 2021

Where to I begin?

It’s my 21st birthday for one thing, so I would like to keep this short yet respectful in memoriam of those we lost twenty years ago.

To those who died…you will not be forgotten.

To those who survived…we honor you.

9/11 rememberence · 12:43pm Sep 11th, 2015

14 years ago today was the largest terrorist attack on the United states. 3000 people died that day. I was only 5 years old when it happened, but I still remember that day; I was in school, and my teacher found out and just fell to the floor crying. It is a day that I will never forget, and will always stay in my heart. Why anyone would want to attack another country is beyond me. Not just the United States, but the world. There is too much violence in this world, and not enough love. It makes

9/11/2001: The Darkest Day in Recent American History · 6:27pm Sep 11th, 2021

Today, September 11th, 2021 is 20 years since the horrific plane hijackings that took down the World Trade Center and part of the Pentagon (and that field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania which that plane was definitely aiming for the White House). I still remember seeing the planes hit the World Trade Center on tv when I was almost 4. I remember it so well because that's the very first time in my life that I felt genuine fear. For those 2,996 lives lost on that day, let us endure a moment of

In memoriam. · 4:05pm Sep 11th, 2020

19 years ago, the Twin Towers fell. Now, I may not remember them, as I was one year old, but to all those who lost their lives...I offer this prayer.

Dear Lord, Grant the souls all sent your way, final peace and rest at last. Amen.

19th anniversary of 9/11 attacks · 10:12am Sep 11th, 2020

2,977 people were killed and 25,000 were injured as a result of four terrorist attacks coordinated by al-Qaeda. The hijackers crashed the planes in the North and South towers of World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania.

Take a look at the footage of what is known as the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history, captured by former NYU student, Caroline Dries.

I would to take this time to ask everyone to sit down and remember those we lost on September 11th, 2001. I wasn't personally in New York but I saw it happen on TV and to this day i'm still deeply effected. Let's take a moment to reflect on what we lost and hope that they are in a better place.

Never forget.

Everyday Heroes - the Boatlift of 9/11 · 4:47am Sep 12th, 2019

Last year, inspired by the incredible tale of the 9/11 Boatlift, I wrote a reflection about how all of us have heroism within us. I have chosen to post that reflection again, now with the tribute video which inspired it at the bottom. As the world continues to grow ever more despairing, I believe it is more important than ever that we remember how to hope; remember how to be everyday heroes. On this solemn day, please take a moment to read, to watch the unbelievable tale that so inspired

When this image (and others similar to them) flew all over the world, Russia included, I did not truly understand the significance of the event.

9-11 · 5:10pm Sep 11th, 2015

Once again we find ourselves at the date that changed many people's lives, most for the worst, but some for the better. For me, it was the day I sat in front of the TV and said "I want to help people, I want to join the military." I was only twelve at the time, but damn if I didn't grow up and join the Army. What about you guys? I know some of you may have already shared such things on other anniversaries of this date, but this is still my first year here, so forgive this fool his curiosity.

Well today's 9/11. Fourteen years ago, terrorists attacked my country. It was a tragic morning for many people. No one saw it coming; so, when it hit, it hit hard. Many people did die, but there were people who led others to Jesus before the towers collapsed. There were people who in giving up their lives, prevented terrorists from suicide crashing the plane they were on. There were people who led others to safety, and strangers who came together and helped each other. A lot of people died as

One Affront to the English Language. One Already Quite Frustrated Author. This is Estee Vs. Reckless! · 6:43pm Jul 16th, 2019

Revenge time for me, more entertainment for you sadomasochists fine folks. It's Estee's turn to suffer through the worst book that I owned, before OET.

How bad is it? Can it possibly be as bad as Mr. Kaplan's mess? And the real question: just whose fault is it?

Go forth and find out for yourself.

Birthday/Remembrance Blog · 5:08pm Sep 11th, 2023

It is my birthday today, and I am now 23 years old.

It's strange, because I'm currently in Washington, DC, on a combination of birthday and work trip with my mom and dad. It's been really fun so far. Apart from my folks and I needing to change hotels after one night (Because the hotel we were originally in was a mess), and some really sweaty walks in the DC heat...there really haven't been any low moments.

Well, it's that time of year again. It's truly hard to believe it was actually fifteen years ago...

I was almost a year old when it all happened. All I have are the stories from my parents, who told me exactly what they, and I, we're doing before the anchor on CNN broke the tragic news.

For those who have been following me from more than exactly one year, they know I'm not shy when it comes to politics. I won't ever shut up about them because they matter. People can be saved, or condemned if no one does something about it, and saying the truth is around the bare minimum one can do.

Day 11: Remember · 1:18pm Sep 11th, 2016

I would like to take this day to honor those who have lost their lives to this very day. No promotions, no story facts. I was around eight years old when the attacks happened, seeing bits and pieces in the news channel before we moved to Kansas City. I didn't lose any relatives or friends, but that doesn't mean I can't continue this honor.
