...and in with the new!

Our last successful Time Action Glory Challenger is none other than Sunburst, and he will be getting his reward pic sometime soon. More than that, the artist has agreed to rearrange ALL THE PICS so we can have a brand new banner going forward! That brings this month's commission up to a total of 80--55 for Sunburst and 25 for the banner (since he's sketched it all), but you can easily go to the thread about price if you wish to donate to that.

Furthermore, this entire group is getting a revamp! The front description shall be changed, the list rearranged, and tags brought forth, old new and strange! That's right, we have a few new tools in our belt this year--the Tag Directory will be used as a quick and easy count of tags from now on. The Tags themselves will now be organized into the following categories:

• Mane Cast: The Mane Six plus Spike. All used, but put here for organization purposes.
• Princesses: Celestia, Luna, Nightmare Moon, Cadance, and adorable Flurry. Again, all used, just being labeled.
• Special Tags: OC, Other Character, Anon, Self Insert. All used, and all recognized.
• Groups: Tags that represent species and organizations.
• Movie: Characters hailing from the MLP Movie (and any sequels).
• EQG: Characters from the Equestria Girls series.
• Lore: Characters born either a thousand years ago or in the comics.
• Family: Characters who are related to the Mane Six.
• Side Characters: If a character was more than a cardboard cut-out and impacted the episode they appeared in, they're here.
• Background Ponies: Anyone not in the above groups shall be placed here, and be loved.

Only categories with members that still label less than 100 shall be listed in the Stats of the Tags thread from now on. However, each category shall be split into 4 sections: Less than 100, Less than 50, Less than 10, and ZERO. You see, at the end of last year a number of new tags were added, to accomodate for the number of new characters that Hasbro gave us to play with. This is overall a good thing, but it does mean that some characters are still languishing in obscurity...

...which, of course, is what this group was founded to counter.

So then, we have before us a new year, and a new challenge. And this month, I say we help the newcomers. Anyone with zero stories to their name deserves priority. At the time of this writing that includes, Queen Novo, Gaea Everfree, Daydream Shimmer, Crackle, Kettle Corn, Toola Roola, Coconut Cream, and Chip Cutter. I know a few of those are just because old stories with these characters haven't updated their tags yet, but a number of them are BRAND NEW and need your help! So feel free to write whatever you wish...

Lastly, In addition, I've locked all the 2017 folders to "Admin Only" status, and quarantined them under one superfolder: "2017 Challenge Folders [LOCKED]". As a temporary measure, I've created a "2018 Challenge Folder" for anyone who still wants to contribute while we sort this new lot out. As soon as we've determined which tags will go into what category, I'm ready to create the requisite folders and add the new stories to them.

Lastly lastly, I've upgraded the following members' accounts to contributors on the following criteria:

1. They have added more than one story to the folders during 2017 (and the beginning of 2018, for fairness' sake).

2. They have either started at least one thread or made at least one forum post.

3. They are not already administrators (current admins include yourself, me, and Themaskedferret).

Also, you're very welcome. Just need to sort out once and for all which tags go into which categories. I remember "Side Characters" and "Background Ponies" hadn't been fully worked out yet.
