I know you all know me as someone who only writes oneshots, but longfics are people too, and I have a couple to recommend written by some very talented people. Having preread both of these fics, I can safely say they are fantastic, and you are in for a treat.

Silent is a fantastic person and a fantastic writer, and one of the most creative people I know. They specialize in incredibly original AUs, and Children of the Sun is no exception. They've been working on this fic for more than three years, and so much love has been poured into this thing, trust me.

Children of the Sun is an AU where the Elements misfired, and banished every pony in Equestria underground to protect them from the fallout. In the following thousand years, they've done their best to survive, and eventually return to the surface. Twilight is a Prophet in the Church of Daylight, and occasionally the Goddess gives her visions. They're finally about to break through to the surface after a thousand years trapped underground, and when they do, everything is going to change.

If that isn't enough to hook you, there's a sister story, Lover of the Moon, that follows Rarity, which is also excellent and due to be published in parallel. And on top of that, I can assure you this universe is fun to write in as well. You may be seeing something along those lines soon. ;)

Flashgen needs no introduction, as one of the best horror writers on the site, and the proud owner of a user number below 100. He's a good friend of mine, as you might have guessed from the fact that I've written him several stories.

The Mares in the Moon is an AU that mixes Lovecraftian mythos with ponies, and Twilight is a student of an eldritch being known as The Princess, who banished Celestia and Luna to the moon a thousand years ago. It's fantastically atmospheric, and a great original take on an episode one retelling. It's already got three chapters up, with more to come every week. Go check it out.

Finally, if you aren't in the Quills and Sofas discord, you may not have heard about the project I've been demanding everyone I know look at for the last few months. I, too, am capable of writing longfic (I hope), and once I've finished it I will release it here for all you lovely people to enjoy. So stay tuned for that, hopefully before the end of 2022.

Look, no one said I was good at writing longfics fast. But I have high hopes for finishing this one eventually. It's got Rarity and Twilight, you'll love it. Trust me.
