So i uhh… I went dark for a bit. June was incredibly busy, and I did not write for the entirety of it. I had a few busy days that set me back, and getting added to a second research project I wasn’t expecting really threw a wrench in my writing plans. On top of a stretch where I was in my bag thanks to burnout and bad mental, it ended up with me completely unmotivated to write. I don’t think I wrote a word for 31 days.
40K words in, I'm writing a second, even more detailed outline for FoE: Pillars of Society. I've added a couple of plot threads, added a twist...

This story is long. Horrifyingly so. And it is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.
But it's goddamn interesting. And even when I got to a chapter I didn't like, it never failed to keep me interested.
It's a mega-crossover. It's a musing on the nature of narrative and story. It's an exploration of quite a few philosophies.
I mentioned in a post last month that I was gonna start writing a longer story around Gallus in the Royal Guard Academy called Bluebird. To let you know my progress, I started writing it two weeks ago. Since I'm back at work full time, I'm largely gonna be writing it on weekends. Meanwhile, I've commissioned some MLP art (the first time I've ever done so, funnily enough) to use as the cover, hopefully you folks will

I had a day off, so I went ahead and wrapped up translating the rest of Act I of The Wanderer while I had the time. From here, I'll need some time to get the worldbuilding all ironed out before I start Act II, maybe a little less than a month. I have the story beats and the pathways to them down - I just want the world to be as lush and believable as possible.

The first two chapters of The Wanderer in prose form are out now, and I'll be trying to translate at least two chapters a week until it's caught up with the greentext version. Just kidding, you'll be getting them like every other day lol. Shouldn't take very long.
Hello, everyone! Just wanted to update you on Chapter fifteen and some more things! I've decided to release it once I've reached twenty thousand words and I am currently at fifteen thousand three hundred seventy two. That's a new record for my longest chapter, which was six thousand for fanfictions and four thousand for my original works!
EDIT: Updated post title, since I've developed a pattern of uploading new chapters on Wednesdays.
After writing a new chapter each weekend for three months, I'm taking a break this weekend to work on something else. Plus it gives me time to get things to write for the next few chapters I'm working on, the next two be less heavy than the most recent chapter.

157 chapters and 2.5 years. As of now, the longest story on fimfiction marked complete, and the fifth longest overall.
Songs of the Spheres has been a massive undertaking. It currently sits as the fifth longest fic on the site at 2.1 million words and has been a part of my life for so long it feels strange to be marking it complete.
Thought I'd give an update on where the story is going. I've decided to make The Long Reach Part 2 the end of the Academy's first term. That does not mean the story is finished, but that enough of the story and character development is done that I'm gonna give the next few chapters a change in the scenery before it returns for the second term. I've looked through my current plan and contemplated if I should add

Just for one day this time! New chapter up tomorrow - Pinkie Promise. I have been putting in some time day by day but a few snags at the end of last week meant I couldn't put in as much time as I wanted. I will get this whole writing schedule thing sorted out and be back next week on time. I swear! I could rush out the new chapter this evening, but I do not want quality to suffer.

I'm really sorry that I will have to say there will be no chapter until the regularly scheduled one this Thursday. It was a very busy week and then weekend - I don't want to rush anything in the story, I want to take my time when needed to make sure the story flows properly and that I don't miss any plot beats. I promise to get things back into swing after this!

I know you all know me as someone who only writes oneshots, but longfics are people too, and I have a couple to recommend written by some very talented people. Having preread both of these fics, I can safely say they are fantastic, and you are in for a treat.
So, every so often, I take a look at what's featured and popular on this site just to see where the trends currently are. I don't really read a lot of FiM based fic these days, since, as I've stated, I'm more interested in Equestria Girls. But I like to know what's going on story-wise around here and I've noticed something that kind of irritates me.
