I don't usually write posts like this, because articulating things is hard, and it's easier for me to respond directly to people, most of the time.

There's too much to say, and I can't possibly cover all of it. So I'm not going to try. A bunch of people have already written better blogs than I could. And all of those people are much bigger names than me anyway, so there doesn't seem much purpose in me writing this - it's not like I'm going to reach anyone new, after all.

But I'm writing it because I don't want to stay silent, and be assumed to not have a voice here. I'm writing it because Black Lives Matter, because the protestors are fighting for justice, and dismissing them as rioters and looters is wrong, because police brutality is a very real problem in America that must be addressed, and because we have a President who would happily be a fascist dictator if we let him do what he wants without a fight.

Please go read those other blogs on the subject. Please make sure you understand what people are fighting for. Please support the protests.

Don't stay silent.
