Changeling Theory's First Act is Complete · 1:38am Sep 20th, 2021
It took some time, and to be honest, I didn't expect to get to this point. I have completed the entirety of Changeling Theory's first act with an astounding eight chapters. The word current count rounds-up to 40,000 words total, which is the most I've written in a story thus far. That said, there is much more on the way. That said, I will be taking a small break from the story because the last three chapters zapped a lot out of me.
In total, the last three chapters round-up to a whopping word count of 17,000 words. For those reading the story, you might have noticed the lack of updates the last few months. Part of it is that work has been keeping me busy. The main reason, however, is that the ending to act one took a lot of work. This mostly had to do with the amount of characters I had already establish. There was a lot of consideration that went into it, most of that consideration consisting of, "How am I going to pace this out properly without it feeling jarring to the reader." Hence, the lengthy wordcount.
So, that there is the reason why it took so long to push out. Now that it is finished, I don't see my break extending any longer than it has to. I just want to break from the story for long enough to pump out a few one-shots, read a bit, and get back into the writing groove. I really feel like I've somewhat lost touch with how I structure my sentences, and I'd really like to spiffy that back up first.
All-in-all, if you have not read Changeling Theory, then do so right now. It's taken a lot of work for the story to reach this point, and I think that you will really enjoy it.
Pacing was great for the content. It got a little wobbly near the end (jumps between characters), but it kept me immersed. Happy to have you taking a small break, and looking forward to what you'll put out in the meantime. Take it easy, man.
it is indeed poggers
