The Voice in the Water

Listen to the crashing of the waves, the flow of a stream, the roar of a waterfall, or the patter of the rain.

    Next chapter delayed a bit

    Hey all.

Field season really kicked into gear in early April, so I've been getting home exhausted pretty much every day. That and a bout of creative block means the next chapter of Phoenix-born is probably not going to be out until mid-May at the earliest.

Hazbin Hotel Episode 1 - I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

So, after however many years, we finally get Hazbin Hotel. I've been waiting for it to come out since I saw the pilot. When the first episode dropped, I watched it before checking out any reviews or commentary, because I wanted to go in without any preconceptions clouding my view of the series.

And honestly, I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

Working on the next chapter, and realizing something I wish I could do.

So, as I've written more of Rising, I've come to realize that there's something I wish I could do with the formatting. Namely, I wish I could have two columns of text, one that would represent the main narrative from Sunset's external perspective, and one that could be used for when Sunset and Philomena are sending, or when Philomena is sharing her perspective. I don't know how easy something

    Favorite Super Robot attacks

Because I'm going through anime withdrawal due to having my internet via wi-fi hotspot and therefore must ration my data usage, and don't have access to my disk collection, here's a bunch of my favorite attack names from Super Robot anime, and the series they come from. This is by no means a complete list of all the attack names I like, but they're some of my favorites.

    Nightcrawler

The current leader of the Cult of Endless Decay, Nightcrawler is an atrocity (the Chaos equivalent to an ascendant) created by D’compose in the waning days of the Skellweb Crisis. With his master's capture and Black Thorn’s death, Nightcrawler became the de facto leader of the cult. Even now, he works against Solaria in an effort to both free his master, and defeat the hated phoenix-born.

Update on Phoenix-born rising · 3:23pm Mar 7th, 2021

Hey everyone,

So, just wanted to give ya an update.

I've finished outlining to the point where I feel that I can start writing again. Took longer than expected because of school, work, and a very unfortunate situation at the boarding house I lived in that involved a new tenant basically being so disruptive, loud, paranoid and mentally unbalanced (seriously, the f**ker actually yelled "Boy, it sure would be a shame if I killed everyone in the dorm next to me right now" right outside the house) that everyone had to flee out of fear for our safety, while the LLC that manages the property have been dragging their feet on getting him evicted. The practical upshot of the whole situation was that I was essentially homeless for half of January and a good part of February (I ended up sleeping in my office), but I've been transferred to a new unit, so life's starting to get back to normal.

As far as a timeline for the next chapter, that's still up in the air. Field season has started, meaning I'm going to be doing a lot of camping as I go out to get collections for my current project. But, I really want to get back to Sunset and Philomena's story, so it's being worked on.

Stay tuned.

Seriously, what is wrong with some people?! You are a fabulous writer, so I understand the desire to outline all that comes next. (Same here)

Stay safe and healthy.

0_0 ... OK wow I don't know how to respond to that other than, Holy shit, and glad that your OK.

Damn, hope life's gonna start looking better for you after that.
Looking forward to the next chapter of this masterpiece

:twilightoops: Holy crap. Glad you got out of that situation. Delays are completely understandable given the situation. Best of luck going forward.

Glad that situation is being resolved. Seriously, what is wrong with some people? On a lighter note, I'm pleasantly surprised by this update as I was just finishing a re-reading of the story. So it's good to know we'll be getting more soon.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you like your new place, though and things will be better from now on. Stay Safe.

Thank goodness that things are alright.

Glad you are safe a well I look forward to the story but your safe and well being comes first.

*pokes head up from the guts of Chapter Seventy Five of Rubicon*

Yikes. Sounds like one hell of a situation. I'm glad you're not near that dude anymore, cuz whoa.

I hear ya on the outlining thing. Looking forward to further updates and the eventual story content! :} I wish upon you many good things, a happy spring, and much writing energy, my friend!

*dives back into the depths of writing Hell*
