Thanks again, everyone, for contributing to the last blargh. It's a hell of a lot of music, and it took me a while to compile the most that I could from it.

I ended up making a Youtube playlist. As of right now, it's 327 tracks long (although some of those links are full albums). Y'all might be taken back by the awkward name. Back in 2015, I made a playlist for Ponky called "Cram It In Your Ear." So I named it under the same tradition.

I can't promise that I'll like all the music that's been suggested, but it's something I aim to sample consistently for the next foreseeable future. The shiet that I like like will be compiled in its own playlist, so maybe something snazzy will come of this. In any case, thank you for sharing your awesomeness. I am not worthy of such grace.

I've been feeling a bit nostalgic as of late. Yeah, let's go with that excuse. Anyways...

Are there any past atrocities fics of mine y'all would like to read me blarghing nostalgic about? Maybe some egotistical ramblage on my part could fill the daily word count, since my current experiments aren't pleasing too many marsupials.

Other than that, same old same old. A million things in the pipeline and very few plungers around. Alas, alas.

I’d like to know the story behind this one. I know it isn’t old, but it’s probably the most enigmatic to me that is off the top of my head.

I’m reading Appledashery now, and I’m fricking shuddering. You could start there.

I hope to Epcot you have Cavetown there.

DA R N S T R AIGHT SKIRTS MUSIC IS LOVE MUSIC IS LIFE

I'd love a Lemur Rambles for Hello, Sedna; Couchtavia; Refraction; When I Was Thirty; or How to Disappear Completely.

I would adore a Lemur Rambles about I Met A Pony In Hell (And We Kicked Ass Together). I just really loved the action, the character interactions, and the ending was both dark and hopeful, at least I felt so.

Alternatively, Twistclops. Peak Kaizo Skirts performance.

The Last Tears In Tartarus, and I Met a Pony In Hell (And We Kicked Ass Together).

These two are what I'd be most interested to see you blather on about. I adore them both.

Also, glad to see you compile all the music from the blog. There was a lot there, and yes, I might have dropped a couple albums worth of music. Hehe. :scootangel:

glad to see honeybee on your list i hope you like the song and the band

Do you remember that story, you know, the one that started all fluffy and cute but then took the mother of all rollercoasters and then it was all nostalgic and existencial-like? Yeah, that one.

On a serious note. I wanna know why, out of all the stories, Appledashery is so long and anxiety inducing. That and, maybe, any Flash Sentry story. Just curious.

The Things Tavi Says was the first major fic of yours that I ever read and it was a great time, especially with its focus on music and (a magically induced) chromesthesia which are both areas that intrigue and/or involve me immensely. Last Tears in Tartarus is always a winner with its message of hope in a hopeless world. Just A Few Things is a short story that ive always liked rereading as well. Wish i couldve joined in on the music recommendations last blargh but alas I'm less active then i want to be here and even when I am things fly under my nose easy af, well hopefully I'll be on time for the next especially with the college semester over I'm finally getting back on the horseword train.

Given how many alts you already had, I'm surprised how long it took you to end up with a porn alt.

I enjoyed some of your older, slice-of-life oneshots like the 'Friendship is' trio ('Friendship is Wet,' 'Friendship is High,' and 'Friendship is Balls'). The classic AppleDash ones too like 'Spelling It Out,' Random Dash,' or 'Eating Apple Cider Doughnuts..'

'Numbers,' 'Refraction,' and '.out.of.character.' were very interesting too!

And of course, I'm always up for any blarghs and fun stuff about either Appledashery or Austraeoh. Especially the former since I don't think it was usually talked about as much as Austraeoh.

I'd love to hear some ramblings about something like Eljunbyro. Specifically how you went about crafting the characters of Bellesmith and Pilate. Love those horses

As it so happens, I've already done a blargh about Things Tavi Says.

I've rambled a bit about Last Tears in my 2012 blargh (https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/792562/2012-the-lemuracolypse-part-eight-the-summer-shuffle). But yeah, that one has long been a favorite of mine, which is why I keep it up on my user page constantly.

Been ages since I read "Just a Few Things" though. Only person I imagine who would want to hear more about that is Jake the Army Guy. Maybe I'll give it a look-see, but I'd say Tears is definitely deserving a look-back.

I feel like "Appledashery" is coming up a lot in my communicative circles (few they may be) as of late, which is funny consider nobody reads that fic.

Y'know what's the sad thing? Appledashery was written with so-much-fewer-than-zero-fucks that I never truly kept any notes about it. I only ever had the grand vision of the fic mapped out in my head, and since I stopped writing daily on it over two years ago...

...I've forgotten so many things. X_X Once in a blue moon, I'll go back to Appledashery and read a short passage and it will be my first time having so much as looked twice at the selection in years. It quite literally feels like someone else wrote the fic and not me.

Such a goddayum trainwreck. Gotta admit, it's very tempting to ramble about it...

I only fear I wouldn't have enough to say...

How to Disappear Completely is extremely personal to me. I don't admit that lightly because the fic was not very well received, and for many good reasons too. Expounding upon it--I fear--would open up a nasty, pedantic, and overall stupid can of political/philosophical worms. Sometimes, certain pieces of literature should just speak for themselves... even if it is nothing but dog vomit.

I did a Lemur Rambles on .out.of.character.

It's still one of my favorite poni fics ever. Not perfect, but I thought it was still an overall good exercise.

The Numbers Don't Lie seems like an obvious choice. Problem is, I don't really feel like the author behind it. The plot belongs to theworstwriter. I just got his permission to adapt it.

Also, I think I made the story too long and the moral of the fic (if there really is any) is hidden beneath a lot of winding, overwrought dialogue. F'naaaa. It's a fan favorite but not a Lemur favorite, really.

A lot of that stuff is feature-bait slice of life fiction... aka things I haven't looked back on once. But maybe I could do a smorgasbord of rambling vignettes about slice-of-life one shots. I do remember Apple Cider Doughnuts quite fondly.

I'm surprised to hear I Met a Pony In Hell named-dropped. That was a lifetime ago, and it definitely has a very meta-backstory to it, regarding stuff I've already touched upon in the 2012 blargh(s). Maybe I should re-breeze through it and come up with some commentary.

5271684
In a perfect world, I'd do a blargh for each book. But... well...

5271692

It's very interesting to hear about what an author was into when they wrote something. Like, when I wrote Finding Your Place, there were several head canons that I was super into, so I made sure to include them. People are constantly shifting and changing, and it's really nifty to peek at what their mindset was at a particular time.

5271692
I would be very interested to read it, I'll have you know. It's one of those stories that always stuck in my mind since I read it. Plus, as Jake said, seeing the author's perspective of the time they wrote something is fun.

I have to admit that the comments in Appledashery are the salt of the earth. Truth is I revere you most of all as the Lemur-God of onomatopoeia and I’m collecting as many of them as possible into one epic blog of rated M out-of-context things so I can (copy and paste) learn from how you do it

5271689
Mm. I figured. I remember HtDC getting hate cuz ugh, Flash Sentry and another depressing Skirts fic. Although I agree on that last point.

5271687
Ha. Have fun making sure you didn’t miss anything when you get back to older stuff.

And you know what’s even sadder? The Appledashery channel it’s still there on Lemur Cave. Probably just in case lul.

Also I forgot but out.of.context was quite good. I bet you enjoyed that one.

If you wanna feel depressed you could always take a look at When I Was Thirty.

Please don't. I only bring it up because it's, well, relevant.

5271690

Oh, I didn't realize you already had a blog about .out.of.character. I'm so sorry about that! It's been awhile so I've forgotten, but I'll definitely read that. Thank you for finding the link for me!

Also, I think I made the story too long and the moral of the fic (if there really is any) is hidden beneath a lot of winding, overwrought dialogue. F'naaaa. It's a fan favorite but not a Lemur favorite, really.

Aw, it's okay! When I made my list of favorites/suggestions, I was attempting to cover a semi-wide scope in case any particular type of story currently seems more fun or comforting for you to talk about. Not to mention I'd just be thrilled to see one of my picks...well, picked out and learn more about them.

The vignettes sound like that'd be really cool, and I'll be excited to see if you decide to write about them!

5271687

Haha, well, for a supposed train wreck, the whole ride on Appledashery was very fun. Perhaps, the zero-fuckery was part of what made it so.

The dissociation you describe with it doesn't sound uncommon from what I hear from other writers who try to look back on their old work sometimes, but the feeling must kind of suck though so I'm sorry about that.

And no worries if there's not a lot to say about it. Ramble as much as you would like to, but don't force yourself to squeeze out more than you really feel you want to. If anything, I think a lot of us are suuuuper curious as to where it was gonna go and what heart-crushing, skirts-style spectacular-ness you had planned for it in the end.

...Or at least I am dying to know since nobody apparently reads Appledashery. Still.. :rainbowlaugh:

Something Like Feeling. Then you have There is Love Beyond What Lingers. Herald. And Backroom :rainbowlaugh:

This is something I can understand as a writer, but as a reader, it really, really crushes me. ( ͡°, ͜ʖ ͡°,) I could see how far you were going to take it (I guess) with Flim and Flam and the description of the long arduous and joyous relationship going all the way beyond actually finally getting together and all the shenanigans there on after (faintly I can imagine an entire 200 chapter arc based on AJ and Dash just attempting to do the lover’s nuzzle in the Corner :rainbowlaugh:) whilst the remainder of about 300k words would have been settled into the first arc, or something (and, also the sex tag, ahem.) But... eh... you know what King says. When it’s starting to look like an “alien relic bought at a junk-shop or yard sale where you can hardly remember stopping...” yer ready.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

That implies for something else as well, old Colon boy.
