    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

I think a picture will do... · 2:39am Jan 16th, 2020

...if you read the chapter(s), I hope you enjoyed this little crossover with my favorite Sci-fi series of all time.

A lot of these friends are not here anymore: Jeff Conaway, Jerry Doyle, Andreas Katsulas, Richard Biggs, Stephen Furst, Michel O'Hare... I binged watching this series all over when I wrote the chapters and everything still hit like a train. I wanted to get G'kar's voice just right, Londo's and Stephen's, even Garibaldi's during his brief appearance. I wanted their voices, as I know them, to express themselves in their speech patterns on 'paper' and do them right. I hope the Babylon 5 fans that follow me got a chance to read those chapters and relive old memories with me.

B5 has spoiled me for a lot of more recent shows. The difference between a pre-planned arc with escape hatches for every important character (in case of IRL issues) and the modern trend of pantsing-by-committee is incredible.

You have me nostalgic with this arc, so I'm already on season three of yet another rewatch. I hope your happy with yourself. 😋

Seriously though, you got G'kar spot on. Fantastic job.

It's been a few years. Might have to watch it again sometime soon.

aww yes Babylon 5 i remember watching this on TV and latter on Amazon prime witch i think it may still be playing there.

Even tho I'm an old school Trekkie, there's so much that B5 did better. Such a fantastic show. I still get chills when Delenn is facing down the Earth Force coming to attack the station.

And Ivanova's "I am death incarnate" speech.

Oh, and did you know that around the time the show ended, Bill Mumy got some of the cast together and released an album. "Trying to Forget" by "The Be Five". The group consisted of Bill Mumy, Andreas Katsulas, Mira Furlan, Peter Jurasik and Claudia Christian. Mumy wrote or co-wrote all the songs. Usually his stuff is really weird (and I like it!) but this album is played straight (with the possible exception of "It's Just a TV Show" lamenting overzealous fans). It's kind of bluesy-jazzy lounge music. I really like it! I only have the the digital version of the first release. Looks like there was a 2013 release with a couple of added songs, might have to pick that up.

The Be Five

I love babylon five So much

It's a good thing I have the entire series on DVD, because it feels like it has been forgotten. Not even a single tv station has bother to get the rights to re-air it on their station.

Babylon 5 was such a wonderful show. I'd always said I liked it--my dad's a big fan, and I certainly remembered bits of it quite fondly from when I first watched it probably close to a decade ago (Vir's answer to the "What do you want?" question is probably one of my favorite things anyone's ever said in a television series), but I'm never sure how well stuff I liked a while back holds up. Getting into writing myself did a lot to change how I look at stories, I think.

And one of my friends was talking about how he didn't like Babylon 5, which made me even more curious, so I went back to rewatch most of it pretty recently.

It was funny. I noticed a lot more cracks in the writing this time than I did back then, but at the same time it just hit so much harder. It's one of those cases where if I had to pick favorite characters or favorite scenes, the lists would just go on and on because there's always something more that just can't be left out.

So I'm definitely glad to see it getting Isekai chapters! I've been putting off reading them 'cause I wanted to get through them more or less all in one go, but I'm so looking forward to getting to them :pinkiehappy:

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I did enjoy the show. :)
(Didn't see any of it live or live-recorded, as I recall, but when younger I for a time had access to all five seasons on DVD for a while and watched every episode at least once.)

5187075 Volume's low, but best scene ever. JMS was a wonderful writer of the time.

5187029 I think it's good practice even in fic writing!
5187037 I'm happy you're happy!
5187045 I enjoyed every second of this rewatch.
5187047 They still have it, I don't know if it's included with Prime.
5187057 Yeah! I Remember the Be Five! I thought it was pretty funny, reminded me of how the Japanese cast of Ranma 1/2 also made their own group.
5187061 For good reason!
5187068 Yeah, I'm glad I bought it a while ago in DVD. Although Prime does have it... and JMS had broached the subject of a remake, so maybe one of these days?
5187075 I look forward to your thoughts on the chapters then!
5187079 I always look back at random episodes when something else reminds me of it. B5 never stops giving.
5187085 Always glad Vir got his wish

Brings back some old memories from a time long ago and far away.

Lets hope they don't try to woke revive it like they've done with everything else

You...monster! You had to remind me how many of these fantastic actors died, didn't you?

Aw no, so many of them dead already? I never realized ...
Damn, how time flies by. Still remember how much life they gave their characters.

I remember that story Jerry Doyle (Michael Garibaldi) told of a guy who wanted an autograph from him ... because he recognized him as Bruce Willis.
He told him that he wasn't Willis, which only enraged the entitled fan. So he thought fuck-it and signed his shit as Bruce and he left happy. :pinkiehappy:

Any reboot of Babylon 5 is highly unlikely anytime soon, as JMS himself tweeted a couple of years ago:

The TL;DR — typical bruised Hollywood egos, rights split between JMS and Warner in a fashion similar to Star Trek after the Viacom split fifteen years ago, etc. Never say never — the Star Trek rights are back under one roof again, after all — but I wouldn't hold my breath.
