Being very cautious for a bit · 8:22pm Aug 25th, 2019
With news that the rest of S9 is already out in the Netherlands (in Dutch) and is likely to appear in Australia within the next couple of weeks, I'm changing a few things for a little while. I won't be looking at the front page, feature box or Popular Stories list of this site until I've seen the whole thing myself. I will also read no fics published after yesterday. I have enough stories on my RiL list to keep me going. For everyone else: please be careful out there!

Thanks for the head's up. Would rather not have another 'Tirek' or 'CMC' happen, where I know the episode backwards & forwards months before I actually get to see the episode.
You know... not for the finale that's been 9 years in the making. That would suck~
Yeah, I just read a fic yesterday that had details from the Chinese advanced episodes.
I'm taking the opposite approach and I'm going to marathon the rest as soon as I can get them. I know I can keep from spoiling things for other people, but I've been burned before, even when being very cautious. Better to get it from the horse's mouth!

I'm not sure I'll be able to hold out until the US release, but I may compromise and watch the remaining episodes once they've aired in Australia. I'd rather not watch subtitled releases, since the VAs are such a central part of the show for me. That said, I've already been spoiled on one thing (albeit not a staggeringly huge one) so even that may be asking too much.

I've always waited before, but this time with the ultimate resolution to the series at stake, I want to experience it directly! BTW, the Chinese ones I saw were in the original English with Chinese subtitles!

From what I've seen (which may be inaccurate!) the Dutch ones are Dutch-language only. If there's a secondary English audio track along the lines of the South American EqG releases, that could change my intention. Subtitles would be a minor issue. But unless there really is no other way, I don't want to watch the finale without the voices of the Mane Six VAs in particular.

If today's news on Equestria Daily is to be believed, the early Australian releases may not now happen at all. It could end up being China that gets there first -- but it's anyone's guess at the moment.
