BronyCon Wrap-Up (Plus Some Very Important IRL Stuff!) · 1:00am Aug 9th, 2019

So as I've stated through several blogs, I attended BronyCon over the weekend. Normally, I would have posted a wrap-up blog the day I got back, but something very terrible happened in real life that had to take precedent. More info on both below.

Alright, so where to begin?

Well, I spent the majority of BronyCon waiting in lines. Going to the vendor hall? Line. Going to a panel? Line and almost always capped out. Going to get an autograph? Enormous line.

Still, the con wasn't without its fun. I got to meet some pretty radical people. After speaking with him a lot over voice and text, I finally was able to meet ROBCakeran53. Super cool, awesomely chill dude. Same with Majin Syeekoh, NickyD (love you dude, Go Eagles!), Freglz, Chapped, Nick, Pascoite, the entire Barcast, and so many more!

Pictures of my haul incoming, followed by the irl news!

I also got a Tempest Shadow blanket, but the file size is too much for Fimfiction apparently. The next batch is the most exciting. My wife sadly could not attend BronyCon, but I got these for her (outside of the photo with the awesome Rebecca Shoichet!)

Thank you to everyone who signed this!

Now for the real news.

We were evicted from our apartment. It happened while I was on the way home from BronyCon, squarely in the middle of West Virginia, with fifteen hours to get home to Arkansas. My wife called me, bawling her eyes out, to let me know what had happened. Due to policies with the management company for our apartments, we had been evicted due to her being terminated from her position at the front office, and had only three days to get out. Safe to say, we were both shocked and panicked.

Still, I did my best to stay composed on the outside. I began to search for available apartments in the area, but nothing really came up. Then my best friend in the whole wide world, FamousLastWords, came to the rescue. He was in the car with me, and DMed me an apartment complex he thought looked nice. I made the call, and they had an opening available for immediate move-in.

We'd be upgrading from our old 700 Sq Ft 2BR1BA, to a 1,200 Sq Ft 2BR2BA.

So while things looked bleak, we had an amazing opportunity to look forward to. The new apartment is only about three minutes away from the new Walmart Contact Center, so driving there if need be won't be a hassle as it would have at our old apartment.

We're finally all moved in after about three days, and I have some pictures of my office/game room to show you guys.

I just want to thank everyone that knew about our situation for their love and support. Your kind words really helped us through a tough situation, and we both surely would have panicked without our friends.

Well, this wraps up just about the longest blog I've posted in years. I hope you all have a wonderful night! I'll be seeing you in six days for my birthday blog :)

*hugs*

Glad you were able to move in to your new place

It was horrible having to see you go through that on the drive back. I'm just glad you guys are doing well, in fact better off than before.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. But it was great to see you at bronycon, and I'm happy to hear you guys are safe now

Thank God you got a new place. This could have been so much worse.

I have no idea how apartments work except from all the horror stories from both owners and tenants... but three days to get out? Seriously? I was under the impression a tenant had more like 2 or 4 weeks legally, after being served eviction papers in some official function rather than hiding them for 29 of those days. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong? Maybe the contract is a lot less forgiving for tenants?

In any case, glad to see you found an upgrade.

....Anyway, see you at TrotCon. :rainbowlaugh:

(Ugh, you just had to add that :facehoof:)

Pfft, that Spyro poster in the first pic is GAY. I bet some lunatic gave it to you.

It was fun seeing you at the convention. And congrats on the new place.

i’m glad everything went well!!! and it was awesome meeting you at BronyCon, i only wish that we could have spent more time together.

Man I'm glad that you have such awesome friends that'll help you out of a jam. And again you are so damn lucky that you got to go to the last bronycon... still I'm glad that you got a new apartment.

Good to hear you're doing well post-con my guy! Also, the portion where you're gonna have a ton of screen time in my vlog is soon!
