A comment on my previous blog reminded me that I didn't update here yet, but it still won't be horribly long.

    I Live!

But I’m on a buttload of drugs and am going to pass out.

Surgery went great, even better than expected. I’ll elaborate more later.

    Until next time!

Post-Con Reflections · 8:12am Aug 5th, 2019

Heya, Folks!

So, the final BronyCon is officially over. :raritycry:

But there are still going to be other cons in the future. BABScon and Everfree Northwest just to name two more big ones. Since this was my first and only BronyCon, and only my second Brony con (note the space), I intend to go to more. I guess it depends on where they fall and if I'm able to make it. If you saw some of my recent posts you'll know that I was close to not being able to go to either con, but was able to pull myself together, and boy am I glad I did.

I was finally able to meet Dreams of Ponies, I Thought I Was Toast, and jowijo, my... I guess you could call them my posse over on discord (though I did meet jo at EFNW last year, so I guess it was more of a reunion with him).

I was happy to run into and spend some time with Olden Bronie again, and I also ran into MasterThief briefly. Aside from Jo, they were the first ones from the site that I met in person at any MLP con. I also got to see Admiral Biscuit (whose shirt I am wearing at this very moment before I go to sleep) in the writers' room, Quills and Sofas, and a few others whose names were familiar but I didn't really know.

The meetup I was most excited about, though (and yes, I'll admit, I fanboyed a little despite the work I did for him, even if he couldn't tell), was with Pen Stroke. After months of editing the stories that became the anthologies The Life and Times of Nyx and Into the Dark (for those of you that managed to get them, take a look at the inside covers :ajsmug:), it was nice to finally put a face to the name. He was also on a few great panels I attended.

Unfortunately, while I had also planned to meet up with FamousLastWords, that arrangement didn't happen. I swear, Famous, I wanted to go to the panel, but the autograph lines were so damn long!

Speaking of autographs, aside from the great Lauren Faust's (which I really shouldn't be surprised, but am still bummed about; I guess I'll have to wait until she's attending another con *cough* sure *cough*), I managed to get all of the attending voice actresses' signatures on a wonderful bit of artwork that katakiuchi4u (EifieChan here) drew for me, and pictures with all of them. You can see the order I got them in below. Hopefully I don't need to tell you who voices whom—their signatures are over their respective characters anyway.

And yes, I know I have a terrible smile.

Rebecca Shoichet (I promised Kat I would also get a piece of Sunset Shimmer artwork—drawn by cuttledreams—signed for her)

Nicole Oliver

Michelle Creber (along with Gabe Brown, AKA Black Gryph0n)

Cathy Wesluck (who was making phone calls to people as Spike—it was totally adorable)

Britt McKillip

And of course:

Andrea Libman (the light wasn't great at the angle we were holding it)

And for some reason something I absolutely did not expect happened: while I was waiting on the line to see Michelle and Gabe, somebody that reads A Daughter and her Dragon recognized me from my badge name, and they asked me for my autograph (I'm pretty sure it was somebody whose name here begins with 'BronyWriter' and then a few numbers—can't remember which). Feels a little strange, to be honest, but it was kinda cool. Guess I need to start practicing how to sign 'Level Dasher' as well as my real name?

Over the course of my time here in Baltimore, I've overall had a great time. There were some interesting moments at various times and places (I'm sure many other attendees can attest to that), and there was a lot of interesting stuff in the vendor hall (I currently have an adorable new Woona plushie right in front of me on my room desk, and will later have plushes of my little OC ship Crimson Star and Tesla Coil when the artist gets to me after her queue is complete). I actually decided not to get too much else, because I already have too many prints than I know what to do with, and other 'stuff' just didn't pique my interest. The only other thing I did get was a set of wooden coasters from Ruirik. I'll admit, there were times that I considered getting a Luna dakimakura (tons of artists were selling them), but I already have a giant Luna plush that I got at EFNW last year. I don't think I need anything else.

I'm staying here another night to see a Yankees/Orioles baseball game tomorrow (Monday) evening, so I'm going to need to find something to do until 7pm.

Well, it's 4am now. I think I need to hit the sack if I want to have any hope of being coherent tomorrow. That said, g'night, and talk soon, guys!

It was great seeing you again, Dasher and I wish we could have had more time to talk and just hang out. This BronyCon has been crazy wonderful and it was great being able to spend a part of it with you. I'm heading back this morning myself. Have fun at the ballgame and safe travels to you, my friend. *Hugs*

Glad you had a good time!

It's okay, bro. The panel line capped out about before the panel started so it was rough sledding to get our friends in the room. I'm just glad you had a good time.

What hotel are you staying at?

I'm at the Hilton. I literally just woke up. XD

Trying to plan a little afternoon excursion before I head over to the ballpark tonight. Got an idea for meeting up?

It was great seeing you again!
