Wish Fulfilment by adcoon

Genre: Comedy
Trixie went looking for a job; what she found was a genie.
So the story is "Trixie gets phenomenal cosmic power and wins". The punchline, when you write that plot with a Comedy tag, can be one of only two things, and there ain't no Romance tag on this one. Suffice to say, this is a perfectly adequate story, but it didn't really leave me with anything to latch onto by the end, nor any great laughs.

Pinkie Tales: The Little Mermare by Magpiepony

Genre: The Little Mermaid Adaptation
When Partiel rescues a pegasus prince from the surface world, she falls madly in love with him. How can she ever stay with him?
This is really something. While following in the traditional Pinkie Tales format of fun casting and Disney movie adaptation, it has so much more to offer than its predecessors. It's maybe not as funny as some of the others, but it's got drama, it's got, well, Disney-style romance, but at least done well, and it's got world-building. I mean, this is still just a fairy tale, a bedtime story, but the setup in the opening, not to mention what happens to the villains, make it feel like it's really the pony version of the story, and not just the original with ponies slapped over it. There's even a song that isn't a filk on "Under the Sea" or something, which was a good decision. On top of that, the casting is still clever, from who gets to be the bad guy to what happens when Partiel (that's Pinkie in the lead role, if you weren't aware) is turned into a pony that the prince won't recognize. Of course, the best action is still in the animatic on Youtube, but this is far and away the best entry in this series. And Fluttershy as Flounder, essentially just a head with fins, is far more adorableness than I was prepared for. XD

De Surgente Cadenteque Alicornuum by Alaxsxaq
Reading by Illya Leonov and Tenkage
Genre: World-Building
Twilight has a few questions for her mentor about alicorns.
That feel when Twilight wants to know about alicorns and Princess Celestia just wants to teach her about God. So begins what could only be an infodumped backstory for Equestria, starting with its creation and incorporating Biblical imagery, Tolkein-style names (and more), and a few not-so-subtle nods to the real-world history of MLP:FiM. Is it bad? Not at all. But it's also not much of a story. In truth, this was a dry run for the author's still ongoing The Wanderer of the North; if that has more story, then it will be well worth the read someday. As for this, well, it's a curiosity, but little else.

Pinkie Tales: Egghead and the Beast by Magpiepony
Reading by the Author, et. al.
Genre: Beauty and the Beast Adaptation
Lost in the dangerous, enchanted forest, Sparkelle finds a strange, cursed castle as the only shelter nearby.
And we're back to the funny ones. :) Once again, the casting is clever, with the large number of characters giving Magpie more opportunity to use side characters, but front and center is the Beast. I won't spoil it, but his appearance is hysterical, adding a whole other layer of comedy to the story. It wraps up with a hilarious twist ending, too! And that's about all I can really tell you beyond go read it. :D

If even pony stallions like the spa so much, then surely there's something in it for you.
I guess it was only a matter of time before we got a second fanfic about figging. (The other was SleeplessBrony's Looking Lively, of course.) Go figure Biscuit wrote it. :B I love the way this is structured: if you know what's going on, the ball is dropped about halfway in and all you can do is just wait with bated breath as your appointed self-inserted apprehends nothing of what's about to come to him. And if you don't, well, there's a surprise in the end for you, isn't there? :3 I guess I could ding the end for being somewhere between "just stopping" and "going on too long".
