Letters arc complete and posting Monday with Chapter 10 of The Knight, The Fey Maiden, and the Bridge Troll too

I have up to Chapter 99 complete in Letters From a Little Princess Monster, which is a little embarrassing since I *started* the arc in the middle of Covid season. It could have graduated from several universities in that time. Rather than tease bits out of it like I have before, I'm just going to go straight into my daily publishing routine and let you catch up on where I am on The Knight, The

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

Decisions, decisions, and writing plans. · 4:07am Jun 5th, 2018

Just to let you know where my time is being spent currently, and the end result that you may see in the next few months. (and to let you cheerlead for certain stories if you wish, so I know which ones may receive the most attention)

Letters From a Little Princess Monster - The Dominoes Arc (just started)
My Little Priestess - Worship is Magic (in early development)
Twinkle Twinkle - Speaker to Dragons (historical Equestria, in middle or so)
Equestria - 1940 (Earth historical, about a third done)
Farmer Bruener Has Some Ponies (Earth modern, about a quarter done)
Writing up my Everfree NorthWest experience (yes, I’m a procrastinator)
Working with Irrespective on A Study In Stones (on and off)
Working with Tek on Celestia Gets Nailed, a heartwarming historic slice of life in Canterlot
Getting a head start on the sequel to Twilight Sparkle Lays an Egg (not started)
Getting a head start on the sequel to Her Royal Morning Coffee (not started, but thought about)

Anything else I missed? Add your comments below.
I’ll close with a snippet of My Little Priestess, just so you know what it is. (Heresy! of course)

My Little Priestess - Worship is Magic

The Goddess Celestia, who Raises both Sun and Moon while ruling over the Theocracy of Equestria, is worshipped by all ponies within her lands until one fateful day when she sends Acolyte Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville to prepare for a ceremony....

Editors: Bad Horse (Inspiration),

This is a Dromedy, which is a cross between a Comedy and Drama, only without the humps. We will be taking up a collection at the end of the service, so have your checkbooks ready and remember to put commas in your numbers.

The Book of Harmony
Chapter the First- In The Beginning

And in the seventeenth century of the Divine Awakening, the Holy One reigned over the Theocracy of Equestria with a gentle and benevolent hoof. All who lived in the lands gave thanks and praise to She Who Raises The Sun And Moon, and rejoiced in her leadership.

And yet, there was a darkness forming beyond the ken of mortals. The only signs were hidden in the stars, concealed in their movements and moods. The Holy One could see, of course, but one more…

~ ~ ☥ ~ ~

“Spike!” Initiate Sparkle shouted at the top of her lungs despite galloping into the Sacred Repository of Ancient Knowledge at a velocity far in excess of the traditional slow trudge with a recitation of each of the Six Aspects of Harmony. “Spike! Where are you?”

“Here,” moaned the little dragon. He slumped out from behind the door from where Twilight Sparkle had inadvertently thrown him when she burst into the room unexpectedly. “You really shouldn’t raise your voice in here.”

“I know, I know.” Twilight Sparkle waved a book under his nose. “This is important. I need you to get me the—”

“Ahem.” Spike rubbed two claws together.

Twilight bit her bottom lip, then let out her breath in a deep sigh. “Very well. O, Pure Flame of the Celestial Radiance, Blessed Hatchling of Light. Please go forth into the Archives and recover a book about the Elements of Harmonious Worship for me? It’s called Predictions and Prophecies. Oh, and I almost forgot.”

Spike held out his hand, palm upwards, and accepted the offering Twilight dropped into it.

“A ruby! Nice.” He chewed away while looking through the bookshelves, eventually coming up with the requested volume. “Here you go, Initiate Sparkle. Read well in the Light of Day.”

“Thank you, Spike.” Twilight had the book open before Spike even opened his claws and was paging forward as fast as her magic could move the pages. “E… E… Elements of Harmonious Worship. See Shadow in the Moon?”

“Got it,” declared Spike, waddling out of the archival stacks with a book in his claws. “Creepy one, too. What’s going on to get you in such a state, Twilight?”

“I’m not positive.” Initiate Sparkle read furiously through the dark book while behind her, Spike retrieved a sheet of Blessed Parchment and some writing materials. “Ah, HA!” declared Twilight. “The Shadow in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful goddess of Nightmare who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Blessed Elements of Harmonious Worship and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will end the reign of the Sun forever!” Twilight gasped. “Spike! Do you know what this means?”

“Dear Divine Radiance,” murmured Spike under his breath while he wrote.

“This is important!” declared Twilight Sparkle. “Her Radiance needs to be informed immediately! Spike, take a letter.”

Initiate Sparkle looked over at the patient dragon, who was holding a quill and a golden collection plate.

“Oh, yes. Almost forgot.” After the rattle of yet another gem into the plate (and a quick crunching noise that followed almost immediately), Twilight cleared her throat.

“Dear Divine Radiance. My continuing meditations on your glory have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster!”

“Hold on,” muttered Spike while flipping through his Divine Dictionary. “Pr… Pre… There we go.”

“Uh, brink?” Twilight shook her head and continued. “For you see, the mythical Shadow in the Moon is in fact the Nightmare who was banished to the Moon a thousand years ago, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your chosen disciple, Initiate Sparkle.”

“…Sparkle,” muttered Spike with a flourish to finish the letter. “I’ll go put this in with the rest of the Invocations for Prayers, and she should read it tomorrow.”

“No, no, NO!” Twilight plucked the scroll out of his grasp and waved it at Spike. “You need to send this to her right NOW! Tomorrow will be too late! The Summer Sun Ceremony is going to be tonight, and that’s the longest day of the thousandth year!”

Spike gave her a cross look. “Your timing needs some work.”

“Just send it, Spike!” snapped Twilight. “I’ll… uh… get you some gems tomorrow, I promise.”

The little dragon rolled his eyes, but still blew a gout of Sacred Fire across the scroll and sent it on the way to Her Divine Radiance.

~ ~ ☥ ~ ~

On the day of the Summer Sun Ceremony, the Divine Radiance sent forth to the town of Ponyville her Beloved and Faithful Disciple, who with the Blessed Hatchling of Light were to proclaim the word of the Sun and prepare the way for the coming of the Divine Radiance and the miracle of the Rising of the Sun the next morn.

~ ~ ☥ ~ ~

“I can’t believe you let me send that letter during Radiance Celestia’s morning tea,” muttered Initiate Sparkle from where she slumped in the Divine Chariot of the Holy Messenger, which two of the Sacred Band were harnessed and pulling across the sky. “Right into her teacup! I splashed her with my words so she’s banishing me to the end of the Equestrian Theocracy!”

“It’s not banishment,” said Spike, who was at least reading the scrolls which had been shoved into his arms before the two of them were practically pushed into the chariot. “It says here you’ve been promoted to… Quality Control Inspector.”

“Banishment,” moped Initiate Sparkle.

Too bad the only one here I like you're not working on yet. I'm excited to see the sequal for Twilight Lays an Egg.

Me thinks there will be much payback on Celestia and Luna for the prank they pulled on her. Even though Twilight got a daughter out of it.

Hopefully with Flurry Heart and the newborn raining down baby alicorn magic on their heads. Preferably with Twilight, Spike and Cadance watching with a ton of popcorn.

Sequels to Twilight Lays an Egg and Her Royal Morning Coffee are the two I am looking forward to.

Nice version of the return of NMM you got there. Lol.

I always put my vote for Letters From a Little Princess Monster, but the sequels to Twilight Lays an Egg and Her Royal Morning Coffee are considerably good choice also.

Personally I'm excited for Twilight Lays an Egg, a Royal Morning Coffee sequel, and My Little Priestess.

I'm voting for Sweetie Belle - Hogwarts Exchange Student!

*looks through list*

Well... I'm voting for Sweetie Belle - Hogwarts Exchange Student anyways...

--Sweetie Belle

Equestria - 1940! As I recall, you teased it about a year back, and I have been agog ever since.

I'm cheering the most for the sequel to Twilight Sparkle Lays an Egg!

I'm not sure if I'm cheer leading for the stories I'm interested in, or ordering breakfast, but I'll have eggs and coffee.

Letters From a Little Princess Monster and the sequel to Twilight Sparkle Lays an Egg please :)

And now I can't help but wonder how much of this religious structure came into being without Celestia's participation. Or desire. Or understanding. Some days you just wake up and realize everypony's bowing to you more than usual.

FTL

1. Letters From a Little Princess Monster - The Dominoes Arc Always great
2. My Little Priestess - Worship is Magic Sounds Promising and, of course, more Twilight is always good...
3. Sequel to Twilight Sparkle Lays an Egg Interested to see where it goes
4. Equestria - 1940 Tidbits were interesting and history...
5. Twinkle Twinkle - Speaker to Dragons Again... history...

But the full story how you both enjoyed your trip to Everfree would be good as well...

4876774 Well, writing up my Everfree NW trip would take less time. Some people might want to know about that before it starts snowing again.

4876742 And you get to play with the Theology of it too.

And Lo, the Goddess of the Sun and Moon did arrive in Ponyville upon a golden chariot.  Once she had rested from her journey, she addressed the multitude gathered to hear her wisdom and proclaimed, “This is my Sister, who was taken from me, and now has been returned.  Rejoice, for once again Equestria is reunited under our Divine Wisdom.  Behold, the Goddess Luna, Radiance of the Moon and Stars!”

And the assembled ponies cheered with great enthusiasm, for they shared in the joy of the Divine Sisters.

~ ~ ☥ ~ ~

The silence was so thick, even the chirping of a cricket in the back of the crowd seem ear-shattering, or at least until one of the assembled ponies quietly put a hoof down on it.  Prioress Mare stepped forward, and after the prescribed placing of her forehead upon bare earth, she addressed Goddess Celestia with a simple question.

“What?”

“I said she’s my sister,” snapped Celestia.  “Well?”

A great number of Books of Radiance were removed for discreet inspection out in the crowd, including one by Prioress Mare, who checked the index twice before looking back up at Celestia as if she had a question she really didn’t want to ask.

“There’s going to be a revised edition,” said Celestia rather curtly.  “Now make with the celebration.”

You see, Nightmare Moon, when these elements are brought together, a ‘spark’ happens.  We become… a congregation!

Pinkie: I thought that was a minyan?

RD: Wrong religion, Pinkie.

Rarity: And wrong gender.

AJ: Plus we’re four short, anyway.

Twilight: Shhh!!

A long sequel to EggheadTwilight Sparkle Lays An Egg where we could see her child grow up would be amazing. I've been trying to find a fic where Twilight tries to raise her foal/foals and there seem to be none whatsoever, which is rather sad. Even if it's only a single chapter it'd still be greatly appreciated.

4876671 No prob there. I've got major chunks of five large chapters drafted and semi-written, and the whole timeline laid out in my head. Heck, I just started writing it for NaNoWriMo last year, so many more hours remain. Keeping the technology inside 1998 is the hard part for me:

Restraint was not a word that Sparrow Lilley knew very well, but she could certainly talk her way into or out of things with ease.  After their trip to the human stable and horseback ride, she managed to talk Miss Selkirk into going to another mall where they saw a human movie instead of just going back to the boarding house.  Patience was another thing Sparrow lacked. She even got up three times during the movie to use the bathroom or get more popcorn, missing the place where the monster went racing through the town, eating cars and helicopters.  It bothered Sweetie more than the violence of the movie, although that bothered her too. Even the games the humans played were full of violence, like the video games in the lobby where humans shot electronic aliens, zombies, and weird things she could not describe in her quick notes to her friends in Equestria.

Even after they returned to the boarding house for sandwiches before bed, tomato and cheese for Sweetie Belle and cold cuts for Sparrow Lilley, she could not put most of the events of the day into words.

“Hey, Ponygirl!”  Sparrow bounced into the bedroom and dropped onto the bed, rump-first.  “What’cha up to?”

“Writing back to my friends in Ponyville.  What?” added Sweetie. “Why are you giggling?”

“It’s just… Ponyville?  That’s like having a town called Humanville.  Anyway, I don’t have a plug in my room. Is there one in here?

“Plug?”

“For my laptop computer.”  The human girl opened up the flat black bag and produced the strange device.  “The batteries are almost dead, and there’s no phone here, so I can’t get online.  It’s like living in the stone age.”

“Oh, neat!”  Sweetie Belle ran her fingers over the device while listening to Sparrow describe what each part did and how cool it was.  Afterwards, she rested her fingers on the keys and pretended to ‘type’ out what she had been writing to her own friends. “So how many friends to you have that you talk to on this computer thingie?”

“Dozens.  We’ve got this guild on Ultima Online and all kinds of crafters, but most of them are old and just sit around and talk all day instead of going out and slaying dragons or exploring dungeons because of the lag.”  Sparrow held up an odd piece of metal on the end of a cable. “I’ve even got an adaptor for the weird British power, but no phone. I wonder if they have phones in Hogwarts.”

Sweetie Belle perked up.  “I know what a phone is. Twilight Sparkle talked about them, only the human world she went to is different than this human world, so maybe the phones are different too, I suppose.”

Sparrow dug a small device out of her pocket and opened it up.  “Like this?”

“Wow.”  Sweetie picked it up and turned it over a few times, looking at the screen and the tiny keyboard.  “Twilight said you can call anybody in the world or send them messages like my book, only better. How many friends do you talk to on this?”

“Lots.”  The young girl took her phone back and began poking buttons.  “Most of the time, I just text my parents because it’s expensive.  Here, I’ll tell my mother I’m back at Miss Selkirk’s house.”

The tiny letters of the message showed up on screen, followed shortly by her mother’s short response, “Lv you BB gurl. B gud4skul.”

Twinkle Twinkle - Speaker to Dragons looks very interesting to me.

Actually, as much as I'd like to see Celestia and Luna get their comeuppance, I've changed my mind. "Twilight Sparkle Lays An Egg" is a jewel on its own.

4876934
Keeping the technology in bound would be difficult. Cellphones weren't very advanced back then. The first text messaging was in 1992, in fact,

There has been at least one phone in Equestria, btw. It was in Manehattan, and was a rotary phone. Everyone in Equestria Girls had cellphones, so Twilight would definitely know about them, though.

In the UK, it would probably be appropriate if they were using Demon Internet as an ISP! (The US would probably be something more mundane like Earthlink.) Usenet was still popular back then, too, and there are magic related newsgroups...

Looks interesting, though. Still looking forward to it.

--Sweetie Belle

4878731 Quick flashback. In 1993, we had a national flood, so our engineers needed cell phones to be able to be out in the field and call back for job approval authority. They were bag phones, because handhelds had a lot shorter range, and bag phones could blast a signal to the tower. (I seem to remember 5 watts?) The next year, every one of the supervisors *demanded* to get bag phones too because... something something... and not just because the engineers had theirs and used them dozens of times over the day... Just gimme the darned phone! Oh, and we need to have their assigned cars fitted with hands-free base stations so they can take calls handsfree in the car. Although policy said that the car had to be parked before you used the phone.... Just pay the phone installers, darnit!

There's been a thumb-wrestling contest between the Phoned and the Un-Phoned ever since. Sometimes they get taken away, sometimes they get given back for work-related purposes. Now the engineers are using a GPS accurate-down-to-inches app on smart phones, so they get the *nice* ones, and the supervisors are starting to drool again, trying to figure out what they do that requires such accuracy.

4878739
Sounds like lots of internal politics!

I came kinda late to cellphones. I did need to talk on a phone for my job, but that was talking for 8 hours a day on the phone, and I never wanted to talk on it if I wasn't on the clock. In theory I had a phone number for my land line, but it was usually tied up with dial up internet.

Eventually, I went to cable internet, got rid of the land line, and did get a cellphone, but it was a cheap prepaid one from Boost Mobile, and wasn't exactly very powerful.

I got by with that one until I heard about Android... and ended up ordering a Nexus One, because while I wasn't sure I wanted to make calls anywhere, I did want to have a little mini-computer everywhere. :unsuresweetie:

I've had a few since then. My current one is a Samsung Note 4. It's obviously a few models out of date, and wasn't the newest model when I got it, even, but it's got a neat little stylus, and it has a spot for an sd card, a removable battery, IIRC, and works well enough...
