Ordinary Paleo Fans: "Man the Indominus Rex or Rexy were such badasses! Never had a more powerful Theropod in fiction!"
Me, a "Intellectual" me: "Bro do you even Dinocrisis Giganotosaurus?"
"Ah man the DC Giga is so exaggerated, real thing would have gotten shredded by a T.rex!"
"Giganotosaurus is f***ing awesome, T.rex +1 and the true king!"
"Nah nah nah, overgrown Allosaurus wouldn't last two seconds against T.rex."
"60 feet long!"
"Barely 40 feet."
"Enormous!"
"Sue was totally bigger."
"Awesome!"
"Over-hyped!"
Me: ".... What the heck are you two saying?"
OYE!..... As someone who spends their work days literally walking under this gal-
There seems to be some confusion I might be able to address. I think a paleo-profile might be in order... The simultaneously most overhyped and underhyped terrestrial superpredator of all time.
Btw, what happened to the Levyatain Paleo-Profile?

Bad data, I am waiting for a study to come out to verify it before I risk spreading misinformation.
I'd be interested to read that.

Ah, okay.
Makes sense
Ooh a paleo profile about the Giga? Color me hyped. Next can you do my personal favorite, Carcharodontosaurus?
4770547
Might cover all the big Carcharodontosaurids (Acrocantho, Carcharo, Tyrannotitan, Concav, etc.) to some extent in said post. Just a key focus on Giganoto given it's the most represented in media and subject to most praise or bashing.
I would have much rather wanted a Giga to kill the T-Rex in JP3 than a Spinosaurus. At least then it would make sense why it would lose.
I don't know if the Giga would have the bite power to match a T-Rex.
4770551
Hmm alright, I'll wait and see. On a sidenote, I still remember you mentioning a commision for Team Mauve Shirts so how goes that? (Figured I ask about something other than when's the next admin post)
4770564
Likely didn't, but that's not a big factor in comparison given their attach strategies were completely different. They're both big Theropods but their from completely different branches of that family's tree with extremely different behaviors and physical attributes. Giganoto and Tyranno are about as closely related as a lion, whale, and gorilla are.

1. Working on it now
2. Picking who to commission, right now it seems to be either Pyrus or FallenAngel
4770572
I think I'd prefer FallenAngel, no disrespect to Pyrus.
Dinocrises looks kind of cool, but neither of the scenes shown match Rexy in the og Jurassic Park for cool factor, obviously more powerful, but it's so klunky or over the top that I can't even pretend to take it seriously.
A paleo profile on Giganato sounds cool, I agree that it is the most over and under blown Dino right now.
Is it just me, or is anyone else also hoping that Capcom eventually reboots Dino Crisis?
paleo-profile. Wait, Trey the Explainer?

Nah, just something I do I later found has the same name. I interchangeably called it that or species spotlight.

I am hyped. I recall hearing about this back in 2nd grade, and being so excited about it.

In that case I hope you don't mind that I recommend his youtube channel. He dives in to lesser known dinosaurs. A video that I think would be liked by everyone here where he finds what dinosaur Godzilla is most closely related to.
A new paleo profile coming up? Heck yeah! I love reading your essays on ancient creatures. ^_^

Oh I'm well aware of Trey, spoken with him a few times as well.
So have any of you seen the new Jurassic World trailer?
I recall Giganotosaurus being mentioned in the Triceratops PalioProfile; specifically how it's hunting style was not optimal for hunting ceratopsians, leading to the decline of their group and the rise of the tyrannosaurs. I would be interested in reading a more targeted description of these carnivores, and look forward to the upcoming PalioProfile about them.
