A few days ago, I was reminded that "It's almost that time again," and today is now that time (

The first Sunday of Advent, the time for many users here on Fimfiction to change their avatars to include a Santa hat somewhere on the image. (You could also take my route, simply turning your entire avatar into a Santa hat (
), or you could even use any other item associated with the upcoming holidays instead of a Santa hat, if you so wish.)
This little tradition was started by The Descendant back in 2012, and it's so far continued every year since. (Although TD has unfortunately been offline for over a year now, other users, including myself, enjoy spreading a tiny bit of Christmas cheer throughout this website too much to stop.)
Also, for a couple of plugs, unrelated to the above:
Flashfic started its prompt for December: "Through the Ages."
Why not try to see what kinds of stories, or even just scenes, you can manage to write within a mere 150 word limit in under 3 weeks? You might be surprised with how much fun (or potentially challenging) it can be, either to come up with your own little piece or to read other users' entries. In another group where this was promoted by SweetAI Belle*, one user even said that this helped them break out of a writing hiatus. 
And speaking of reading other users' entries, I just updated my own anthology earlier today with the entry I wrote (chapter link) for last month's theme.
