Tempest is gonna beat herself up over the events of the movie?
I would say Tempest would probably hate herself for a good chunk of it then Twilight will finally get through to her and make her understand she deserves to be loved.
Well I think its going to take some time for A. Twilight to TRULY forgive Tempest to a point where she would be open to more...fluffy things with her :P xD
and B. I would love to see them have a happy ending and I think that's where your heading somewhat but I ALSO think that its going to be a very harsh emotional and maybe even physical rollercoster/train wreck for them to get to that point.
NONETHELESS! I suspect lots of cuteness, cuddling, hugs, and or possibly kisses and playful teasing/flirting and I think I know you well enough as a writer that you love these things :D
Maybe even a near death or perceived near death experience that brings them closer together? Maybe a combination of the two? Or possible some form of a jealousy conflict? Or perhaps a Protective/Jealousy Conflict? Its so early on its hard to tell which if any you will go with or perhaps COMPLETELY throw me off guard and give me something completely out of the box. Which while I like I also love cliche romances so there is that xD I'm a sucker for this kinda thing admittedly xD
I think they are going to make a cute couple but there are so many possibilities! What will her friends make of this relationship? How will they react? Will the shadow kings army rear its ugly head in some form again? The storm king could not have been the ONLY major player right? (Large opportunity for OC creation here) Also I think a lot of that is sequel material as well which I think you could possibly do if this story is successful enough? Or maybe you will just go a ll rebellious on us and do it any way which I am totally for! xD

Now I didn't read it, but I think a giant space whale is going to come down from the heavens and grant Tempest unlimited god powers. She is going to be able to shoot a beam of concentrated snuggle at a pony! This beam is capable of granting snuggle powers and Tempest will be able to gently manipulate Twilight into snuggles without snuggling. Science will be remade to where you don't have to touch someone to snuggle them.

I am fine with waiting. It kills me obviously, but you have NO idea how often I was burned reading a good story, and then suddenly, GONE. Now I know for a fact you won't drop this story, but I have been burned so many times. Enough for my 15 years of fanfiction to get to me and for me to declare that I was done with it. You get burned for 15 years and you say enough is enough.
As long as you complete it before you die, or I die, then it's fine. Which hopefully won't end up turning as morbid as it sounds.
I'm loving it so far, just please don't let it be too slow of a burn. Too many writers show the build-up to the romance, but not enough show what happens afterward.
Twilight is going to be pissed because Tempest destroyed her hometown.
But Tempest helps with the reconstruction and gets Twily (with Starlights help) some little things like flowers or sweets to show her she is willing to be a good pony if it means she can win Twilights heart because of it.

8 Months? The last five chapters of my best story were all posted in different years. You don't know long yet.
First, Tempest is going to -at least- attempt to muffle Starlight at night. Then in the morning Starlight is going to smuggle Tempest across town to meet with Trixie (presuming she is still in Ponyville in this story) for an orientation on how to transition from standard villainy to only committing occasional Ponyvilliany (i.e. 'Lesson Zero', or 'Every Little Thing She Does').
I'm expecting Tempest to be at the forefront of every project she can work on for the reconstruction, causing Twilight to worry that she's not taking enough time for friendship lessons.
I have the feeling Tempest is going to try too hard to earn forgiveness. She might take Luna's route for her guilt and needlessly punish herself in some way. But, I think it's more likely she'll overwork herself and stress herself to the breaking point to earn her place, and forgiveness, among the ponies of Equestria.
I'm not sure who'd make the first moves toward a romantic relationship at this point. Twilight seems a bit more likely as she has some genuine empathy for Tempest. But, as neither of them have considered it at this point, it's still up in the air.
Also, I am very happy that you have not described Tempest's possible cutie mark at this point. I'm tired of seeing a freakin' sundae on her flank in fanart. Now that I think about it, would she even have a Cutie Mark? The movie suggests she left home before getting it. Of course, as we've never seen her bare flank at any other time, all we can do is speculate.

I agree with that, while I don'T want the romance to be rushed to a point that something looks weird about how easy they got together, I totally want to see what happens afterwards to. I'm always interessted in how the characters are living together or how they act with their still fresh and probably pretty excited feels.

HHhhhmmm my sudden thoughts maybe don't work with what happened so far, but I just mention them.
Well maybe Tempest works pretty hard and way to serious like she was before, just having some different goals with protecting the princess and that stuff. There might be a point in which Twilight will have to pull her rank to slow the stubborn Mare down.
In a way I even thought that a slightly nervous Twilight might even tries to figure out her interest in Tempest while using her position and trying to make it not so obvious, that she wants to figure out if she might loves her. Just tell me what you could understand, I know that the longer my sentences go, that there is a bigger chance that they don't make any sense. (however i have my people that seems to understand everything pretty easily).
I hope Tempest becomes an all powerful alicorn, and destroys the friends who abandoned her from the beginning.

For next chapter, I have no clue as to what will happen. There is no obvious path, but I am going to guess that Tempest becomes friends with the main six.
Over the course of the story, I hope that there is a significant turning point that initiates the Twilight x Tempest ship, rather than a random decision by twilight to become interested in the same sex. That wouldn't be entertaining or believable.
Other than that, I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story!
Derpy will ascend to take her rightful place as the alicorn of muffins and booties, obviously.
