So when I asked people if they wanted to read my story, I attempted to write a short fictionpress.com limited word count blurb that... wasn't very good. I edited the one i had up, but also decided I should post a longer, far more entertaining blurb for my readers. Here it is:
The Bloody Crown
I was Baroness Forowena of Izely, best friend and personal adviser of Queen Felicity of the human kingdom of Tharos. But when vampires murdered Felicity on her birthday along with countless others, I was crowned the new queen of Tharos due to a distant, forgotten relation.
Few people expected I would be queen. I, the crippled, minor noble of an old, but poor family. Even fewer people want me to stay queen. There are the vampire murderers, still loose, and probably wanting to finish me off.
Then there is most of my court, who now want to either get into my bed, or do their best to ignore my authority.
There's also the fact that the murderers may be part of a conspiracy to destroy my home, involving the nearby vampire kingdoms, and certainly involving some of my court.
All I have to defend myself are a few... allies, my wits, my newly inherited wealth and a bitter, jealous heart hardened by years of insults and court slander. I'll admit, bitterness and jealousy are not particularly good traits for a wonderful ruler, but they're part of me. I'll settle for being alive.
Of course, I know that if I am to have any chance of surviving, I must make more allies, find the true reason behind the murder of my best friend, and most importantly, learn how to reign.
Unfortunately, the only person that can teach me how to rule, is a vampire, who won't move out of my chambers.

4650540 You have a character working from a position of limited power and tentative stability in order to advance a cause against a powerful opponent, which the only good news she has is the opponent is just as fractured as she is, or worse.
I can see a death count higher than Game of Thrones. Game of Bones, perhaps? :)
