Obligatory Update:
The final draft Chapter Twenty-whatever is a day away from completion and should be live by Tuesday at the latest. I hope you kids like political procedurals, salty, hurt fillies, and Twist lisping all over the place!

Like, I'm stoked every time I get ANY fanart at all because that practically never happens but wow this the best fanart I ever got.
To elaborate:
WAYS THIS IS GREAT/THE BEST
- Full illustration of Berry Pinch Ruins Everything Forever like holy crackers y’all
- Berry Pinch “shapeless lime green disaster” dress
- Twist trying to get Silver’s attention cause she noticed the cutie mark. Also her dress is on point and charmingly blue collar. Literally.
- Diamond lookin’ fly as heck in that dress because of course she is
- Diamond Tiara and Berry Pinch are so very clearly clearly having the dignified “yur a butt”, “no u” debate
- OMG THEY REMEMBERED WHAT THE CARPET LOOKED LIKE
- Sunny and Peachy are kinda out of it because they got the decaf tea
- Silver Spoon happily chilling and breathing in harmony with her tea
- Silver’s hair decs are so cute! 8D
- Silver’s totally accurate sun dress with blue accents
- Cotton Cloudy cleans up nicely!
- The Dink’s dress is different, but I actually like it better this way! It’s so her. On somepony else it’d look plain, but she’s got the personality and street cred to pull it off. Looking good, Dinkster
- I’m pretty sure that spread of food is also totally accurate and I’m getting WAY spoiled over here
- The firefly lighting on the whole thing sets a beautifully eerie mood, which makes perfect sense considering they’re trying to ignore Nightmare Moon, whose unending night is just outside the mansion walls.
- It also kind of makes the whole thing look like a grade-school cabal of the cool kids (and Twist and Sunny and Peachy) with all the pomp and circumstance Silver Spoon sees the world in.
Oh, but hold on to your hat buckaroos, cause we're not done yet. My dude Robsa ALSO did this lovely alternate cover!
Gotta love how it's pretty much the existing cover, with the camera pulled back. I'm also really digging that teacup handle, that's really clever!
I originally planned on sharing this after the new chapter dropped but then the tea party illustration happened and well, here we are!
I dunno what the heck I did to receive something so nice for free, but I sure hope I can keep doing it. These made my whole darn month. c:

Exquisite in both composition and the attention to detail. And yeah, there's an air of sinister elegance about the proceedings, like a bunch of grade-school Borgias plotting over who will replace Pope Cheerilee.
That. Is. Awesome. Such attention to detail. A lot of love was clearly put into both drawings.

Composition and chiaroscuro are what really make this picture happen, at least for me. That the artist was able to work in so many details without overburdening the image is pretty impressive. But I liked it upon first viewing, even before I read your post pointing out all those things.
I don't know if it's an intentional touch but the seriousness with which Dinky is eating her mini muffins makes me suspect that she's actually attempting to carbo-load for the apocalypse.
