So Vows Made in Wine just got Equestria Daily frontpaged and, guys, I've gotta be honest, their cover art is much better than my own choice. I mean, here I was, writing this bleak look on what it means to have lost the will to live, a discussion between two creatures who are desperately looking for reasons to keep going... yeah, like, what a fuckin' wanker I was, right?
So here's the coverart they used:
Thanks EQD. You're right. I took myself way too seriously, and that's obviously going to be offputting to an audience. But with your help, I know I can put myself back on the right path here. I'm thinking of doing a second draft where they decide to solve their ennui by making it their new mission in life to get Twilight out of the house more, because she's just wasting her life on all those dusty old books, and together they form a K-Pop group called WinSpiration.
EDIT: The cover art has been changed back. So... I guess no K-Pop rewrites?

Sooo I have been reading this blog entry and for few minutes I was just staring and saying "what".
Anyway why would they change the cover art? Did the they fear the Tea Makers would sue them for having a picture of their tea bag? Tea Mafia must be very strict.

Huh. I've never had EqD change cover art on me. I'll admit, the one they used does 'describe' the setup of the story better, although not the innards. (checking)
(edit) Ok, I checked The Adultery of Princess Twilight Sparkle because I used a teacup for the art on it, but I didn't turn that one in to EqD for obvious reasons.
I mean... there's (honey) involved, after all. Small children might read that and get naughty ideas.
Not to impinge on some quality salt here, but did you ask them why they did that before you made a public statement?

Well, Numbers is Australian. They take their tea about as or even more seriously than Britain.

You submit your preferred cover-art with your story. And, had that link not worked and they were looking for a replacement, it would have been a simple case of clicking the link to the story and using that one, the story also has its coverart source provided.
Or they could have chosen a less whimsical picture, or literally nothing at all.
There is no conceivable reason for this outcome.
So yeah, I've emailed them about it, but I'm still a little salty this happened in the first place.

I just worry about you appearing unprofessional and paranoid. You took several swipes at what amounts to their emotional intelligence and skill at understanding art that comes off as kind of personal when it could have been something as innocuous as they got distracted mid posting, forgot they had copied a new link, and pasted it into the field on accident.
Best not to allege motive or action when you don't have any. There are people on the other side of that submit form, for better and for worse.

I'm not really commenting on motives here, I'm commenting on results. I don't think there was intent, but they still fucked up here, for whatever reason, and I'm just trying to make light of it.
