I planned on making it this year but then ran into an unfortunate case of the kill-me-deads. In the moment I needed to make a call whether to cancel or not, and I knew I was dying from something but didn't know if it was going to be an easy treatment or not.
Like that's the thing with the kind of scare I had. Sometimes once it's figured out, its just two pills and a call me in the morning and you're fixed, or its not. There's consequences to whatever you assume in your long term planning, and I basically made the call that if I wasn't going to get better, then I couldn't afford to have sunk the money on a trip I couldn't make.
And then unfortunately it was a two pills thing, regrettably it turned out okay, and now I just look like a coward don't I?
This is just a preamble to saying how desperately I wanted to be there to see the bookstore in person, and it would have been the highlight of my entire year to sign copies for people. So please, if you did end up being a printing of Moonfic, feel free to reach out and message me and I'll see if there's anything we can organise for you for that.
And if you didn't know there was a bookstore, well, go check it out. I'd be flattered if you have my work a respectful look on your way to buying Thanqols and GhostOfHeraclitus books instead.

And I'd definitely put your writing up there with Thanqol and GoH. Don't sell yourself so short.

And I'm not selling myself short, it is true though that Thanqol and Ghost are literally taller than me. I think I'm only up to Thanqol's nipples. Fortunately they're also both older than me, so I got to stand on the shoulders of giants both figuratively and literally.

Good to hear it was only mildly deathly. I also almost went to EFNW this year, so it would have been cool to see you there in the alternate universe where we both made it. Ah well, maybe next year?
