The Tenth Doctor's going to be voicing Scrooge McDuck?!

4342194 All of my yes! Granted, I consider Matt Smith MY Doctor, but David is my second

Yay doctor duck :yay:

You had me at David Tennant! You got me excited again like with Milo Murphy.

Ehhh... Not sure about Tenant as Scrooge.

Granted, given how long Scrooge has lived in 'The New Country,' so to speak, you could argue he should have lost that Scottish accent...

But it's just too ingrained that's how he should sound, you know? RIP Alan Young. :pinkiesad2:

Still, I'm cautiously optimistic after such a good song number, and hopefully it's 'just' Tenant not being able to keep up an accent and Sing.

I'm kinda happy to see Duck Tales coming back and having David Tennant playing Scrooge McDuck pick my interest, but even so, for me Alan Young will always be THE Scrooge McDuck. So sad he passed away this year. :fluttershysad:

Because I haven't seen any Doctor Who, my reaction to the news is a resounding... eh.

4342229 Still, David Tennant is Scottish

OK.

David Tennant as Scrooge? Well, excuse my French (ironically, I AM French), but FUCK YEAH!

4342229 Umm..you do know David Tennant ACTUALLY IS SCOTTISH, right...? Him playing the Doctor was him "keeping up an accent".

As someone who actually watched the original Ducktales, I am pleased to hear it is coming back. I hope it is more of a continuation, but as long as its original traits are not lost I will accept a reboot/remake/re-imagining.

Did not know that, actually. :rainbowderp:

Mad props for his skills at keeping up an accent in that case. I was completly sure he was from England.

So consider my previous point redacted, I guess.

4342229 Talk to Ah-nold about losing an accent.

Also, what better tribute is it to the recently-departed Alan Young than to have an actual Scotsman taking over the role of Scrooge McDuck?

Now I want to know who's going to voice characters like Flint Glomgold, Fenton Crackshell and, of course, Donald Duck. Are they going to invite any of the former VAs to reprise their roles?

I shall be cautiously optimistic about this.
Loved the original so we shall see.

Talk to Ah-nold about losing an accent.

You mean the fact that he keeps a voice coach on his staff whose job is to help him keep his Austrian accent, because otherwise he'd have lost it decades ago? Schwarzenegger can, in fact, speak perfect English with an American accent. He chooses not to because his voice is part of his brand image. If he didn't work so hard on keeping his accent, he'd sound like everyone else in California.

Now all we need is John Simm as Golmgold.

4342485 Well, Hal Smith (Glomgold) and Hamilton Camp are both dead, so they're probably going to get their replacements from Ducktales Remastered (Brian George and Eric Bauza).

By the way, not only David Tennant is Scottish, but he's been able to show his natural accent in a few things (like "How to Train Your Dragons", both the movies and the series). So yeah, I'm pumped.
