A Pop Star, a Princess, and a Prisoner rating debate · 11:39pm Nov 23rd, 2016

Hey, guys.
I'm facing a somewhat painfully questionable decision on whether I should change the rating of my story, A Pop Star, a Princess, and a Prisoner from "T" to "M" due to the next chapter (which could be a two parter) having not just violence, but brief and graphic descriptions of rape and torture. Even though it would not really show it, and that I'd try my best to tone it down best I could, I'm still thinking on whether or not I should change the rating. Though I did rate it myself as "T" with a M 15+ rating, but I want to avoid changing the story's rating to "M" due to fears of my story not getting as many readers if changed to that rating. I don't know what to do. I'm sort of stuck.

What do you think? Should I leave the "T" rating as it is, or should I change it to "M"? Tell me in the comments on this blog, or you can wait until you look at the next chapter of A Pop Star, a Princess, and a Prisoner, and judge for yourself by after reading it, and commenting on the next chapter of the story.

Sadly that actually might happen... I love your story but it's nearing that road of M that I'm surprised it's still rated T for a while.

If the next two chapters are like that... Maybe...

I wish I could say yes or no but that is stuff when it's only like a chapter or two being hard then being the whole story.

Just think about it for a while and see what happens

Well, I did put a violence warning on Chapter 13, and it did go fine. So maybe I should risk it again with this next chapter, and see what come about.
Also, I thought about it a bit more, and I thought of the violence, rape, and torture in the next chapter would be like how we watched the murder scene in Sister Act, and that movie is rated PG. And I think it's because they didn't really show the killing, only the guy pointing and aiming at a guy's head, and the scene cutting to Whoopi Goldberg's character as the sound of the gun firing is heard. So I think I'll try and do it like that and see what happens.
The violence in this story is about the same violence level as the Australian crime drama, Blue Heelers, or slightly higher, and that series is rated M 15+ and a couple were rated MA 15+. "M" rating on FIM Fiction is for stories that are R 18+, and I don't really think my story fits to R 18+, it more around M or MA 15+.

4315027 I do agree what you said and makes sense. After thinking it over again it's in the right spot we're should be.

I say keep it T.
