So um should I rewrite? · 1:51am Nov 6th, 2016
I might follow the story, but rewrite it. In my own way. Like instead of TP it would be FP. Any thoughts guys?

What does toilet paper and flightplans have to do with anything?
Unless you plan to substantially change it, don't. Just actually get the story going again. Because sitting around waiting for rewrites is what anyone following it has been doing for over a year now.
4287037 Third person, First person
4287042 Alright. Thanks for the advice ;)
Me i would say continue but along the way rewrite some chapters if ideas come to you, that way you can keep the story going and redo and/or improve past chapters
No.
I would say rewrite and upload as a new story, putting a link to it in this story.
tp? fp?
4287247 Third Person. First Person
4287257 ah... haven't been around those initials much. my bad. i like both honestly. both have their appeal, which works easier for you personally tho? i'm sure previous readers are sued to seeing ti from the kids view, but... you're the new author taking over, so it should be how you prefer it. otherwise, how are you going to do your best to continue the story?
4287268 Well, really I still gotta plan everything out. So yea ;)
Why the need for the switch?
4287272 that helps too i guess xD... probably why my story didn't take off... aaaanyhoo- good luck, im sure you'll do great! im rereading whats here to re-aquaint myself
4287282 It's not a need, I'm just asking the public on what I should do. Considering that I value all of you guy's opinion over mine.
Third person or first person does not really matter to me. Don't really mind if you make some changes. So long as those changes keeps some consistency and modest-ish character development.
Umm, you know you can change the person from scene to scene, or chapter to chapter?
Changing person does not change all that much, IMO, you can probably just edit some scenes, and it be fine.
I dunno both have interesting possibilities. I'm just excited that there might be more of the story I really liked reading it
Well, it's your story, so feel free to do what you feel is better
How about you make a quick test? Do a mock rewrite of one of the chapters with a perspective shift, and see how it feels like. Maybe let a few people read it as well to provide input, and see what they say.
If it feels better that way, then by all means, re-do the whole thing in first person
4287296 I say keep it as is. Write us another arc.
You can do both in my opinion. It's been too long since I've read this story so I don't remember it as clearly, I prefer third person but first person can be effective where needed.
4287408 Ill take your idea into consideration. Thanks
I suggest just continuing the story by publishing another chapter, then use the feedback from that chapter to decide what to do next.
I prefer TP over FP, but you should do what you are most comfortable with.
The original story did have some 3rd person parts. If the rest is entirely 3rd person, I don't think that alone would make much of a difference.
If you don't need to change past events, better not rewrite yet. Publish a few chapters and see the feedback first. Or you may insert new chapters between the existing ones.
I personally say no, however I know that sometimes it's hard to pick up a story and just write it. If you feel you need to change some things to make it feel more natural, perhaps consider posting these changes separately somewhere and getting a public opinion on it? Or just update the edits immediately, after all, it is "your story" now, as you said.
