Sigh... it's finally happened... · 6:06pm Oct 4th, 2016
Well, this was the worst September in 5 years for me, because it's finally happened. I can't write Homelands. For five years I was able to keep going and going, but now... I dunno. I had a story and a plan and everything, but after 2 weeks of no computer, everything fell apart. I can't feel the story, and what I write now feels forced and clunky. There's no flow to it any more. It's different from writers block is that with that, I know what I want to write, but not how. This time, I don't even know what to write.
I'm not giving up on the story yet, but I do want to apologize to everyone for failing to keep producing story for you. I'm going to try to work on other stories. See if that can't get the juices flowing, but as is, I don't know when Homelands is going to get rolling again.
I'm very, very sorry.
Somber.
It's quite alright, writers block happens all the time. You don't need to apologize for something that you don't have control over :)
Though I will look forward to when it does continue again, I can most certainly wait for as long as it takes.
No need for apologize ITS ALL GOOD
it np,we still love you somber
:hugs:
If you need practice... you know where to find me
It's alright. I know that feeling too and I hate it. I hope you'll be able to shake it off.
Take the hiatus if you need it. No one's gonna fault you for it. People are willing to wait for quality.
Take your time and do it right, you'll get it Somber.
Please don't stress yourself. We know stories like Homelands take time and a lot of work from the author. But we don't want you to work yourself into the ground. So take sometime off, do things you like to do.
Hey, it's all good man

Shit happens, lad. Work on your own time and don't feel sorry, as its not your fault. You have no reason to be sorry.
Time to write some one-shot clop stories to make the juices flow.
Take your time. When your story is ready to be told, I'm sure you will share it.
After reading all those descriptions of Blackjack being "glazed," I'm not sure what to make of you talking about getting "juices flowing."
Ah, take your time, sport. Take a break if you gotta. The story'll still be there when you get back, and so will your readers.
Its ok. If you need a break, take it. Its much worse if you were to force yourself. While I love the story so far, its important that you are mentally ok.
And hey, you might wake up one day and be like "damn, I know exactly what to write!"
4240050 Yon know you like it

Take a break, sit back, smell te roses. If it's just Homelands being a bitch, try writing something else. Or dont.
Did you get your computer fixed or replaced?
Good luck, Somber.
As already said here by a few, you don't ever have to apologize for not getting things out "in time."
It's your story and it's your timetable. When you get it done is when you get it done. Please don't ever feel that we expect things in any certain time frame.
Good luck and I hope you get over your block soon!
You've been on a roll for five years, i'd say a respite, be it major or minor, is far beyond justifiable.
Anyone impatient enough to say otherwise can shove it.
You deserve breaks, man. There's no need to force yourself to write unnaturally for our sakes
4240662 My thoughts exactly.
Sorry to hear that, but whenever you figure out what you want to do, we'll still be here. And until then, you've got other options from brain-drip blog posts to Writeoff events. Hope the computer problems are over, and best of luck finding what works going forward.
Ok, I ran out of up votes for the other comments- We will all be here whenever you finish, take as long as you want if you believe that it will result in the sterling quality of your writing.

See? Even the proofreader for Shadows and Watchers agrees with me!
Take your time Somber, we can wait for the story, just focus on mellowing out.
Take your time man, we all understand. I can only imagine what it would be like for a lot of us if we lost a computer for a couple of weeks, and some of us aren't even writers!
Do what you gotta do, we'll be here waiting patiently!
Maybe it's not you, but simply that the universe can't contain your awesome story ideas.
Take your time. Work on other stories. I know I've lost the feel for mine, and it's been close to 7 months since I last updated that cheesy thing.
Maybe it's a loss of interest in pony. I know I'm feeling that one myself. I want to write something anthro, but not with ponies.
Take a break and destress for a bit. Writer's Block is an evil thing. Go to a museum or whatever gives you your mojo back. :)
Dude just find your rhythm again. Take your time. We are sending you lots of love brother. We will wait for the quality. :)
4241403 Fortunately, my editors are trying to get me past this. It's just this is the first time I reach for the story and there's just nothing. It's pretty scary actually. I still know the overall plot but putting it all together... sigh...
4241665 i think we have all been there. I ran into a huge block for writting my story on fanfiction.net i have not touched it in two years. Which really sucks. Now that i want to get back in to it, my laptop took a dump. So i know how you feel about it in a way. Glad it looks like you got your computer fixed brony. Again, thank you for your great stories. I loved PH and I'm finishing it again for the 8th read through. You did another one, Fifty Shades of Rarity, enjoyed that too. You are a quality writter, and its always good to wait for the great content you put out. I love the fact you write long chapters and really flush out your characters.
Good luck with your writters block.
Lots of love to you man.
$20-case
$30 to $50- m-ATX motherboard
$80 - Processor (1080p video capabilities)
$25 - power supply
$20 - memory
$50-TB Hard drive or $50 250GB SSD (much faster tho)
$100 - windows 10 (if you can't reuse your Key)
So $300 more or less for a new PC that's specifically for Internet and video (1080p)
It's quite alright. Don't give up. Every wastelander needs a break from everything from time to time and that includes your party. We can wait.
Don't force it, take your time to continue or just stop all togehter if it's what you feel
but, if you DO decide to stop, it would be nice to have a brief "summary" or "synopsis" for what would be the rest of the story
p.s: Sorry about any missunderstandings... i'm not a native english speaker
i'm very sorry you're having trouble, sir. i hope you'll be able to get through it soon.
Just take your time. Wait for inspiration, don't force it. We all have our rough spots. Take a haitus or work on other projects, just do what you have to do.
Believe me, if there's anything Fallout Equestria fans have learned over the years, it's patience.
I'm with everyone else, take your time Sombs you'll get it back! This story is worth the wait.
Don't be sorry. Do what you need to.
Somber, having read through Project horizons, and thoroughly enjoyed it, I'd say just take your time and do what you need to do. I have been reading avidly for the better part of 20 years, but had lost interest in reading, and your story is one that revived my love of reading again. So, thanks. I'll be happy to wait as long as it takes.
