Reading this, I first guessed it was linked to this elaborate hoax - in which a researcher set out to show how easy it is to get the media to reproduce bullshit science.
But this is different. In addition to the study it cites relating chocolate intake to cognitive function, a bit a googling suggests the link with weight-loss is referring to this study: Meal timing and composition influence ghrelin levels, appetite scores and weight loss maintenance in overweight and obese adults. Which says that eating a high carbohydrate breakfast can help prevent weight regain. The meal timing is the critical bit, not the chocolate.
So stuffing yourself with pancakes will work just as well.

4015559 Didn't the guy who put out that report, admit to it being a fake to prove the point that a lot of modern "research" in healthy living was actually a lie.
He said chocolate helps you loose weight, went on Doctor Oz, then admit it was all a lie to prove his point.
