I've set a new record! · 3:04am May 2nd, 2016

My new old story "Displacement" has, I think, the fimfiction record for inspiring people to vote: over half of the people who read it gave it a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down. This appears to be the result of a war between the down-thumbers (who had an early lead) and the up-thumbers (who are currently ahead).

Obviously the thumbs-downers recoil from confronting the true emptiness of their subjectivity.

I spent an entire weekend studying Lacan in order to write that story. It is a parody of Lacanian theory while at the same time also being straight-up Lacanian theory. I regret nothing. Writing a pony comedy is possibly the best use to which one can put a knowledge of Lacan.

My other new story today, "Twinkie", has no Twinkie. (Yet. :twilightblush:) That's just false advertising. As my drill sergeant used to say: If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'. Perhaps the best thing about it is the picture:

Click on it. You know you want to click on it.

I present my final project for my English literary theory course tomorrow. Only something that important could force me to procrastinate by posting pony stories. :facehoof:

But, it will soon be over, and I will post ponies again, I hope. Even though I'm now more aware of the feminist hermeneutics of the--OW OW OW!

Dammit. I think I've developed an allergy.

dammit I knew there would be no Twinkie :derpytongue2:

:pinkiegasp:
Get on it mister! :flutterrage:

...wait, present as in turn in, or present to the class?

...All right. For Lacan, I'll actually read a pony story.

There could be no better metaphysical concept to be allergic to than what you are.

I present my final project for my English literary theory course tomorrow.

Does it have ponies? :rainbowlaugh:

It's all well and good to learn writing and then enter a literary criticism course.

It's rather impossible to go the other way around, I've observed.

Whoa. BH still writes ponies? I mean, it's only been over a year since The Mailmare :trollestia:

You realize the red thumbs are from people who are like all, "A displaced story?!1! DOWNVOTE NAO! Huh wait. This seems to be written by an old person. Who the fuck is Lacan? Philosopher, eh? Well, at least it isn't another fucking story with fucking Master Chief and Twilight shooting shit. BUT STILL IT'S DISPLACED FUCKING DOWNVOTE DOWNVOTE DOWNVOTE DOWNVOTE!!!!!!!one!!!!! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!"

And then the upvotes are from people who actually read it and like the meta aspects n shit. Because you can't exactly change the minds of people who already vehemently hate and are dead set on hating a particular style or genre. I guess?

<_<
>_>

Who is Lacan? I seriously don't know who that is. Is he a werewolf?

I'm expecting the Twinkie story to be absolutely hilarious. The only time I distinctly remember writing Pinkie was the manhole cover. Like, I think I have forgotten any other Pinkie instances in your stories. What? The manhole cover left an impression.

So... what shall I do for my lunch break? Read new Bad Horsewords or try to make relatively long comments on people's blogs that I've been putting off forever. I mean, simple messages of Spike moustaches and "It was good. I agree. I can think for myself. Tiem for make of poop break :B" only gets you so far in the infamy department. Not helpful that it's Titty D I'm responding to. Despite the fact that I know he's a pretty swell guy (hard to distract for Bad Horse evil plans of evil tho ;) ), the whole dragon made of metal thing is pretty intimidating. Oh, and the whole nuketacular story reviews thing. So... I know he's cool, but the whole giant dragon thing is physically intimidating. A mental thing or something. Does that mean I'm a racist?[/zootopia]

Dammit. I think I've developed an allergy.

Don't be alarmed, that indicates only that you are still sane.

Obviously the thumbs-downers recoil from confronting the true emptiness of their subjectivity.

I believe their ire would be better explained by your atrocity of displacement without Archimedes.

3912530 I almost did it on Fallout: Equestria. Probably should have.

FYI I enjoyed Displacement. Did you submit it to a writeoff at some point? I seem to remember reading it before.

It is going in my next review post.

3918025 Thanks! I submitted it to a writeoff sometime in 2015, tho I've rewritten the 2nd half since then.
