Big Box-o'-Requests Mega Post · 4:05pm Jan 22nd, 2016

Be sure to read the FAQ below!

Remember, just because you submitted something doesn't mean it will get chosen! If you're looking for a quick commission, there are plenty of authors out there that could use your support!

If you have a great idea for a story you want me to write, go ahead and drop it into my Big Box-o'-Requests! Every time I finish a Request, I'll randomly pick another entry to write and work with the user who submitted the idea to make it everything they ever wanted. It's like a commission that can happen randomly at any time, and you don't have to pay for it! All you have to do is click on the link above, add your idea, and hope it eventually gets chosen!

FAQ

Q: Is there a limit to how many ideas I can submit?
A: No. Submit as many ideas as you'd like to! The only thing you can't do is submit the same idea over and over, or submit an idea that is basically the same as one of your others.

Q: For clop, are there any gender pairings that you won't write about?
A: Nope! M/F, F/F, M/M, Futa, even a gender-less tentacle blob are all accepted!

Q: When and how is an idea chosen to be written?
A: Once I complete a Big Box-o'-Requests fic, I'll make a blog post stating when the next drawing is, usually a week after the previous story is finished. Ideas are chosen using two different methods:

Odd numbered fics (like 18th Hatchday) will be chosen using a random number generator.
Even-numbered fics (like Night at the Club) will be the earliest user to have submitted something that has not already been chosen for an even-numbered BBoR fic.

I don't even read what the ideas are to prevent any kind of favoritism towards stories that contain the stuff I really like!

Q: If my idea gets chosen, is there anything I have to do?
A: When an idea is chosen, I'll PM whoever submitted it and ask a few short questions about the story. If they don't respond within 48 hours, I'll go ahead and choose another idea, so be sure to respond within that time-frame if your story is chosen! I'll make a blog post saying which idea was chosen (without revealing too much about it, like who submitted it and stuff), just in case that helps anyone realize their idea was the one that was picked. Past that, all you'll have to do is tell me what you want to see in the story. I'll handle the rest!

Q: If one of my ideas gets chosen, can I swap it to another?
A: Yes and no. An idea gets picked during an odd-numbered drawing, so in that case the answer is no. This is so that people can't simply submit one idea they really, really want and then flood the Box with tons of stuff they don't really want, just to increase their odds at being chosen. When choosing an even-numbered fic, however, a user is selected rather than an idea. So, if you are picked during an even-numbered drawing, then the answer is yes.

Q: If my idea DOESN'T get chosen, do I have to resubmit it for the next drawing?
A: Nope! All of your ideas shall be preserved inside of the Big Box-o'-Requests until they are chosen or the Box itself collapses into dust. Whichever comes first!

Q: How long will the finished story wind up being?
A: Your guess is as good as mine! The submission for 18th Hatchday was originally only 40 words long and look what happened! I will say, try not to submit an idea that is outrageously long (like a fic that spans over the course of a week or something). Longer fics just mean it will take longer to finish which means people have to wait longer to be chosen. That's not fair!

Q: What won't you write about?
A: Other than a small list of fetishes that I really don't like (which can be found on the submission form), I won't write a story based on another author's story (unless the author himself/herself is the one submitting the idea). Past that, there is a small chance that I missed a fetish in my list that I won't do. In that case, if a story is chosen with such a fetish, I'll ask whoever submitted it if they're okay removing it or if they have another idea for me.

Q: Why?
A: I created the Big Box-o'-Requests to challenge myself when writing and to broaden my horizons when it comes to different fetishes.

I've just sent a story idea do you mind?

Have add a story idea

3704897 No, I don't mind. Anyone and everyone can add any idea they want! Once I'm done with #001 and #002 I'll randomly choose another one to do, so until then go ahead and submit as much as you like!

3705023 I checked the list of submissions (I'm assuming you mean that you submitted an idea) and your name isn't on there. However, someone put "Spike Helps Out" as their name (guessing whoever it was thought I meant the name of the story instead of their username). Is that you?

I have submitted several more ideas to the request box. :derpytongue2:

3705143
Yep. (oh shit. I read it wrong)

3705390 OK, don't worry about it. I'll just manually change it.

3705306 You certainly have! This first one is working out pretty good, I'm excited to see what else you can come up with! :pinkiehappy:

I popped a little something in. I'd give it a go myself if I could work up the nerve, haha.

So, I want to put one of my OCs, but I don't have a image, do I describe her on the main character's box?

3708455 Either there or in the story summary

3721633 okay, sent them in 'proper' this time. What are the odds right now? Like you don't have 200 chooses to draw from do you?:fluttershyouch: :fluttershbad:

3722626 There are currently 37 submissions. So, as of now, with two submissions in the box, you have a 2/37 chance of being chosen (roughly 5%), but I'm going to change up how I choose an idea slightly:

For odd number fics (#003, #005, #007 and so on), the selection process is the same; a random number generator. This will make it so at any given time anyone's idea will be chosen without any bias.

For even number fics (#004, #006, #008 and so on), instead of picking them at random, ideas will be chosen by a first-come first-serve basis. This will make it so early submissions are guaranteed to be chosen eventually. In fact, every idea will have a placeholder spot in the que (the first idea ever submitted to the Box is guaranteed to be #004 or earlier, for instance). Your spot in the que will only go up as people who submitted an idea before you are chosen during the random draws detailed above.

For example, say your idea was the second one submitted to the box. Your 'guaranteed' spot in the que is #006 (#003 is random, #004 is the first ever idea, #005 is random, #006 is the second ever idea). But, let's say that when I randomly choose an idea for #003, it winds up being the first ever idea submitted to the box. Now the second ever idea submitted is guaranteed to be #004 seeing as the first one has already been chosen.

Making this change because each time I make a Big Box-o'-Requests fic more people are going to submit ideas, burying earlier submissions and making it harder for my early supports to be chosen. So, once I complete either 18th Hatchday or A Guard's Duty, next up will be Big Box-o'-Requests #003 (chosen randomly with a number generator) and when I complete the other I'll start Big Box-o'-Requests #004 (first idea ever submitted to the box)

3722847 ah, makes sense. I'll probably add a couple more to the que, just a little worried an a couple Ideas wont work out (they wont "technically" violate your "will not wright list" but it depends on how you view what is or is not gore or death) also I replied at the previous blog post about the diplomacy chapters, did you see it? notifications can be a little fiddly

Hello,i have some question to ask
1)"When an idea is chosen, I'll PM whoever submitted it and ask a few short questions about the story. If they don't respond within 24 hours, I'll go and choose another idea, so be sure to respond within that time-frame if your story is chosen!" I have a little problem with that part because for example me i dont check my FIMfiction account on a daily basis,i do however check your page on a daily basis,do you think it's possible that,in addition to sent a PM to the person who made a suggestion that was picked making a blog announcment like "the winner is a story about X" this way the winner can recognize his suggestion and is more likely to check his account for your PM (that probably just me that should check more his FIMfiction account more but i thought it was a good idea because it allow to not miss the PM)
2)I would like to know if my request is in the bag,it's probably a baseless doubt i have but you changed the box of request at one point and i dont know if the sugestions that were posted before the change are still taken into account (my suggestion was about Fluttershy and Zebras)

3726248 Sure, I'll do that! Thanks for the suggestion! Would it also help if I increased the time-frame from when I finish a story to when I choose the next one, as stated in the FAQ (quote below)? 48 hours? A week?

Once I complete a Big Box-o'-Requests fic, I'll make a blog saying when the next drawing is. Usually, I'll give readers a heads-up of at least 24 hours to submit a story.

3724033 If you want, I can check your idea to see if I'm okay with it (I'm sure I am, but just in case...). Which one is it?

3726611 I've filled three suggestions so far, ones a fluttercord gender bender fic wich should be fine, the other two are about robots I'm worred about the one with nightmare spacifficly. I haven't suggesting anything edging on robosnuff yet but if your fine with the nightmare one I dought something more intense will really bother you.

3726572
i4M NOT SURE
I dont think this last part is necessary in my opinion at least
(My apologies for missing the quote, sometimes i read too fast and miss important informations)

3726677
*i'm not sure
Sorry ,forgot to remove the caps lock

3726653 Yeah, I'd say I'm okay with that.

3726677 Alright, but I will do a blog post when I choose a story saying, in small bits of detail, which idea was chosen as you suggested. Thanks for the idea!

Is it too late to put in a request still ?

3745527 The Big Box-o'-Requests shall be open FOREVER! (or, you know, until I decide otherwise)

3745736
I didn't realize how many different stories that I can come up with.
And I still got more ideas planned.

3745736 or you die :raritydespair:
by the by, when you use the RNG do you put ALL the requests into it? or just the odds?

3758919 All of them. ALL THE REQUESTS!

Well, I sent in my own idea.

3762621 Alright, good luck next time there's a drawing!

So how's the request ideas so far? :derpytongue2:

3765114 There sure are a good amount of them. I just got four from some Mr. Ghostman guy... :derpytongue2:

So do I have to put all of my requests in the box again since my stories wasn't picked last drawing?

3781796 Nope. All your ideas shall be preserved inside of the Big Box-o'-Requests until they are chosen or the Box itself collapses into dust. (I'll add that to the FAQ)

Please Make a sequel to 18th Hatchday!

With the moments Spike thinking of Rarity, this story would make a great build up for a moment such as that. I've already thought up a plot: It's a week after his birthday and Spike's helping Rarity out with some work as usual. Since the events that's transpired he's gained more confidence and is more determined than ever to win Rarity's love. So at the end of the day he asks her out on a date for tomorrow night. After thinking it over for a bit Rarity agrees and the events ensue. It'd be a great way for them to establish there feelings before they actually rut each other.

3802327 Psssst! You need to put the idea IN the box (using the link just beneath the picture at the top of the post). :derpytongue2:

Any and all MLP Characters are accepted, including OCs.

I won't write a story based on another author's story

Are other authors' (or artists' or animators') OCs okay or not?

3928488 Hmm... PM me what you're thinking and I'll check...

Cost money?
If not, I'd suggest a sombre story with the Apple Family where Applejack explains to Applebloom how their parents actually died.

"The Apple That Fell Too Far"
Starring Applejack, Applebloom, Granny Smith, and Big Mac

4184056 Nope, doesn't cost anything. Just drop an idea into the Box using the link above and hope it gets chosen somewhere down the line!

Is she spelled "Cadence" or "Cadance"?

4235456 I've seen it spelled either way. I go with Cadance because that's how it's spelt here on FiMFiction (as in, clicking on the picture of Cadance in the character tags for any story with her brings you to her character page, where it is spelt with an A)

4236095 Oh. I see. 001 and 002 are spelled with the "e", is all ^o^'

Guess I should have scrolled down your page a bit before sending that PM
