I feel like this site is a bit hollow.
It's not just that everyone is leaving, but I'm certainly aware I missed out on the significant part of the "golden age" for the site. The main issue for me is I never contributed as a writer or a reader which is supposedly the agenda of the average site visitor. Yet I poured hours into this site like it meant something. I sought some kind self-provenance for this account, and gladly there was a short period of time I felt that way. Although without my old friends on here as regularly as they used to be I do feel like a solo act in front of an empty auditorium. I mean there's always more pony to look forward to but I'm already starting to miss the culture that was so important to me.
So, I'm not leaving. I mean sometimes I go a whole week without getting any notifications and I'm just sitting at my desk all day pressing "F5" wondering where it all went wrong. The real problem is I don't have anywhere else I'm invested in enough to quit. I considered setting up an ask blog on Tumblr (Probably the most mainstream thing for an artist to do). I also considered starting on YouTube, but my concepts will be pretty dilute in such a saturated market. I fucked up on 4chan more times than I can count on my fingers. So what am I really left with? I was never really meant to be an author on any level.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to do? Otherwise it's back to pressing F5 till it breaks.

Heh. You don't need to write anything to be family here, honey. An Ask Blog would be pretty cool too, though.
i agree with Frisk...write something...maybe something small like a one shot or be a blogger. You could also help new people on this site with getting use to the interface and what not.

Well just becasue you don't write frequently or anything like that it doesn't make you a non-contributer. I mean hell, I haven't touched any of my stories in ages, but I still just mingle around, check out other stories, and just have fun! That said, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from starting to write again. I mean you wrote a single fic here and it got featured in about a week (granted, most clop does), so that definitely says something.
You're far from the only person to do that, I'll say that much.
But as I said, you don't really have to contribute that much in order to consider the site a fun one, but it really doesn't hurt to do a little. Start doing special blogs about a certain thing like I do (my blogs don't really get attention anyways, it's just kinda a way for me to keep track of my music), make a(nother) group, or write another one-shot clopfic!

There are plenty of great stories to read to past the time, from either The Royal Guard or Equestria Daily to separate the quality from the garbage.
I feel the same way, nor do I have much else to go to. I just stick around for the heck of it, mostly. The site provides some entertainment.

the site has changed because the people in here has changed. a new sort of people have started swarming the site, while old guys that have been a while in here, are leaving. it's kinda a weird thing, yeah.

This is definitely a place where you get out what you put in. The more you interact with others or contribute works in one way or another, the more response you are bound to get from the community.

Probably a little late on this one, but every fandom goes through this (kinda a duh i guess). The trend fallowers are bleeding off leaving only the actual bronys(/pegasusters) and trenders who are late to the party (
). Ya gotta look around a lot for the ones still around, maybe goto a forum about smexy mlp stuff (or something, whatever floats your boat), but that's only if you want fallowers and/or somepony (*) to talk to.

But I really have nothing to offer. I'm not really in that different a situation from you. (Though I was here for more of the hay-day, I guess.) Mostly I'm just on here to talk to a few people. And for the last week, I haven't even managed that. My userpage is really just used as a message board for friends. And I don't pay attention to much else.
All I can say is that the fervor of something new and exciting doesn't last forever. Lumie has probably been around online for as long as you've been, like, alive. And it's just... normal. You go from community to community. Obsession can't last forever, as fun as it is for a while. You keep some of your besties, sometimes, and stay in contact. But you find something new to get obsessed over.
It doesn't have to be a big, traumatic thing. I'm certainly trying to keep blasé about it myself. Because... well... what use is fretting about it? No amount of worry is going to make me all obsessed with ponies again.
