    Darkening Summary

As I promised, here is a brief summary of The Darkening for anyone who would like to continue the story but would rather not spend the time reading the 69k word story again. Now if you haven't read the story, then please don't read this summary, it is going to cover all of the plot points very quickly, and you will get nothing from it but confusion and whiplash. You can catch the summary just

    The Darkening is Back!

I told you it wasn't dead! Yeah, I saw it when those of you placed it in your "dead" and "graveyard" bookshelves, and I gotta say, each one of those hurt my heart a bit, but I get it. I haven't updated the story since April 2019!

The Darkening isn't Dead, I Swear!

So, I know I haven't really done anything here in nearly two years, but I just wanted to tell anyone who may still care that I haven't given up on The Darkening yet. The truth is, I've been in a bit of a funk since before posting chapter 7. My depression came back, harder than it has in over a decade, and with it came the old feelings of failure. Every time I sat down to write, this little

    The Darkening: Chapter 7

Finally, it's done! This chapter gave me a lot of grief. I wrote the Twilight section over a dozen times easily, and honestly, I nearly gave up at one point. But I didn't, and thanks to a comment from my newer pre-reader, Zodiacspear, it turned out even better than I'd hoped. So look for chapter 7 to be posted next Wednesday around

    The Darkening: Chapter 6

Chapter 6 is ready to go and will be posted next Wednesday. Chapter 7 has really given me a lot of trouble, but I think I've finally just about worked it out, and I'm hoping the next portion of it will come along much quicker. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful time over the holidays, and I also hope you'll look forward to chapter 6 after checking out the excerpt after the page break.

Do You Love Twilight? · 6:18pm Nov 20th, 2015

I am at a place in The Darkening where I need some good Twilight quotes. Quotes that really define who she is. I could go trudging through the transcripts of episodes looking for them, but I thought it would be more fun to ask all of you for some of your favorite lavender pony sayings.

I'll give mine: "A fear that will never come to pass. I'm never gonna send you away."
This was said to Spike after he looked through Sombra's door and saw his worst fear. I love this moment because it really defines her relationship with Spike. Honestly, I loved this whole episode because of the development it gave their relationship, and until that moment, I thought that Spike's greatest fear would have been something like Rarity turning down his confession of love. This quote really stuck with me, now tell me which ones stuck with you!

Here's mine. "You're wrong, Tirek! I may have given you my Alicorn magic, but I carry within me the most powerful magic of all!"

Not really a quote butthe deleted scene in Friendship Games when Sunset and Twilight were at the cafe , really warms my heart.

"Snacks. Books. Blankets. Books."
"You said books twice.":fluttershyouch:
"There are a lot of books.":twilightsheepish:

"Ok the coast is clear, now gently boost me to.... AAAAAK."

My favorite quote is Twilight's answer upon being told that she was now a Princess.

"What do I do now? Is there a book about being a princess I should read?"

That was the moment when I knew the show creators were going to keep their promise, and everything was going to be just fine. Alicorn Princess Twilight was still Twilight.

That's definitely what Twi's all about.

I love that entire scene.

I haven't seen that, but The Friendship Games was the only Equestria Girls that I liked, so I'll have to check that scene out.

So cute and so Twi!

3556360 I want to add my favorite Twilight moment even though it isn't a quote. Going all the way back to episode 2 of season 1. Twilight is all alone with Nightmare Moon, and it looks pretty hopeless. So naturally Twilight charges. "You're kidding. You're kidding, right?" says Nightmare. And just before they collide Twilight teleports past Nightmare to the elements. It's a perfect draw play, and Nightmare completely falls for it. It doesn't work, because the elements haven't been charged with the spark yet. But it's still a really sweet move; one of Twi's best.

Strange, but after all this time, Read it and Weep is still one of my fav episodes. For this:

Twilight Sparkle: Like I said, I have every book in the series, and you can borrow them all, any time you like!
Rainbow Dash: Oh, thanks, Twilight. I'm sorry I made such a big deal about all of this. I thought reading was just for smart ponies like you.
Twilight Sparkle: Rainbow Dash, just because you're athletic doesn't mean you aren't smart!

And the quote I love so much is this: Reading is something everypony can enjoy, if they just give it a try.
