[MBF,L] Post-story fics and Part 23 · 11:44pm Nov 9th, 2015
Hi all,
I know I've talked about this stuff in passing, or at least unofficially, is what's happening at the conclusion of this story (which is gonna be very soon). Namely, what about a fic for Stella?
The original idea was that either: 1) have a continuation of the Fredrick-verse with Stella at the center, or 2) Give Stella her own fic, which would be another HiE, but a true HiE with ponies being standard quadrupeds as opposed to anthropomorphic.
Well, I've decided that I'm gonna do both.
That is, you're gonna have to follow two stories with our favorite batpony: one in a familiar setting, one in a not-so-familiar setting. However, what will remain exactly the same will be her personality, upbringing, and guard service. Only there will things diverge depending on the fic. I'm considering publishing a universal biography for her to help everyone (mainly myself) keep track of everything.
So that's that. I'm hoping to have significant progress on Part 23 by the weekend, and maybe fully published by sometime next week.
Questions? Comments? Let me know below. Also, in Stella's words:
Um, I will not lie, I am not a fan of human x pony fics. Unless they are anthro...either way, it's just too weird for me.
What 3532485 said. Human x pony shipping has always felt awkward to me unless it's anthro ponies. And half the fun of Stella for me is how she teases the sexy...which just isn't there for me if she isn't anthro or humanized.
3532563 Both won't appeal to most, so you have a choice. Out of my catalog, it's high time I add in an actual HiE just to say I did it. However, the continuation (ergo, anthro) will be out well before the HiE will be.

Well, that continuation will be fun.
I'm all for both.

Obviously each to their own, but anthro generally feels like a humans-lite version, which is something I'm not interested in at all, and I hate humanized fics because it tosses away such a large part of the characters. I can tolerate some anthro fics, this one included, but to me it doesn't fit in with my models of either the MLP universe (ponies), or actual human characters. I don't see the point other than to appeal to the furry crowd.
3532829 I think you're partially correct. On one hand it is indeed human-lite edition. On the other, it just makes some things a bit easier to work with while retaining most of the pony traits. I love writing humanized fics because it's a different take on things, and you can still retain a large amount of the personality and character, which, I feel, is one of the most important factors. I like writing all three, to be honest.
Of course, each to their own
I like it and the idea behind it, this sounds really good.
