"Godzilla - Mothra - King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack!"
.....Because Toho REALLY got carried away with the title on this one. Welcome my friends to one of the fan favorites of the Millennium Saga and one of the very few times Godzilla was 100% evil.
As a well known fact by some fans, the film was originally going to be "G.A.V.", with the guardian beasts in the film being Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus. These three were chosen because the director and scriptwriter wanted it to be clear the good monsters were the underdogs and that Godzilla was the most powerful kaiju in the film. However, Toho's executives wanted to ensure a stronger box office so they encouraged the replacement of the latter two with the more well known Mothra and King Ghidorah. I personally would have preferred the original roster, both due to the cool designs for Anguirus and Varan FINALLY getting another movie, but I can understand the change and it did work out pretty well. Still its is really weird to see King Ghidorah as the good guy trying to stop Godzilla... It's like watching Commissioner Gordon calling upon the Joker to stop a homicidal Batman.
Or? Instead of Angurius they could've done with Godzilla Neo did and have it be Manda instead of Anguirus.
Woohoo!!!
I would like to point out this version of Godzilla was the coolest until the latest film adaptation. The next one is slated for a 2017 release. There is also talk of Godzilla vs King Kong for 2020.
And even though the title is incredibly long, Baragon still got left out of it. Baragon gets no respect. At least he made it onto the poster.
Unfortunately, I'll have to miss this one, plus the next two. I'll hopefully be back on Saturday.
