Hello, everyone! I hope you're doing well. I'm glad to see that so many of you have been enjoying my work lately, and I hope you will continue to enjoy it as I move forward. So then, you may ask, what's next?
First, of course, I need to clean up the formatting of Besides the Will of Evil. Once that's done, I feel the need to let the fields lie fallow for a bit. Perhaps I'll wait a month, maybe only two weeks, but I'll step away from the story. I do write original fiction as well, and I need to give that some love after driving hard to finish BtWoE.
However, I'm not quite done with the universe. There will be a very short sequel fic that ties up the last few loose ends, including one in particular. Think of it as having the same relationship to Besides the Will of Evil that A Day for Spike and Twilight had to It's a Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door. Speaking of, I really need to put A Day for Spike and Twilight on here. It's not strictly 'canon' to the universe any more, since Spike and Twilight no longer have a mother-son relationship; this was changed to reflect more closely their relationship in the show. Still, I do have some pride in it, so I'll put it up here, too.
I have given some thought to writing one more story in this universe, too. It would be set far in the future, in a deeply mystical, quasi-utopian version of this world. The Mane 6 would be in it, but they wouldn't be the central characters. I'm not sure if I'll write it, though, and if I do, it's a ways off.
That's not to say I don't have things planned beyond this universe, of course. They may be coming sooner than you think. I shall have to be careful with those, though. They might give you nightmares.
I could be misremembering, but I'm not sure I knew that A Day for Spike and Twilight even existed.
Regarding all the other possibilities, sounds good.
I was wondering if A Day For Spike and Twilight wasn't present to keep a twist/revelation about Spike's possible heritage (that he might be the stolen long lost son of an ancient deposed dragon emperor) intact. I even decided against mentioning it in the comments when others were expressing astonishment at the hints in Besides the Will of Evil.
... Anyway I would be interested in seeing some of the dangling threads, for sure.
I would love to re-read A Day For Spike and Twilight! That was posted on EqD the day I joined the fandom, and it was one of the first fanfics I ever read.
Then when I started Reading Dangerous Business a few months later, it took me a while to figure out why some parts of the story seemed familiar... Ooops
