So after a thoughtless comment by Spike, Twilight freaks out and goes back to her old tower in Canterlot, which is exactly the way she left it all the way back in episode one.
Twilight seems to have forgotten that she never really HAD friends in Canterlot in the first place...
Why did Spike even list Lyra off? Lyra lives in Ponyville!
Wow, that was an interesting way to explain why Minuette, Lemonhearts, and Twinkleshine are constantly turning up in Ponyville crowd scenes.

Just think about what would've happened had Twilight not embraced friendship.
So Moondancer is Twilight if she hadn't moved to Ponyville? Interesting. I say out of two episodes all of season fives episodes have been pretty good.
Uh, first of all, I hate to be that guy but this is episode 12 not episode 13. That's next week.
Second, I feel like this episode is completely ignoring the fact that by not going to the party Twilight learned about the Elements of Harmony and got sent to Ponyville. And it seems to be suggesting that what she should've done was go to the party and ignore the warning signs. And we all know how what would've happened in the end.

I liked it, and the book thing and the helicoptery tail thing are sure to show up in fanwork.

Honestly, I think Twilight would've gone more Moondancer than Sunset. She was defined more by a thirst for knowledge than a desire for power. Really, there but for the grace of Celestia goes her.

Speaking of background, i just now realized that minuette, twinkle shine, and lemon hearts were the bridesmaids at Cadences wedding... and twilight either didn't recognize them (which would suck) or she was too busy trying to fight them off while they were under Chrysalis' spell. And that wasn't their only appearance... Anyone else notice?
