It's like a regular sweater but with the top cut open just to show a girl's cleavage, which really defeats the purpose of what I assume its function is to keep people warm inside. Seriously, does anyone know how this all started and where it came from? Finally, I have a strange urge to draw Shining in it too. I could draw Fleur in one too, but... With how I described her breasts in the story, they wouldn't fill the bust of the sweater up compared to Shining. I'll have to make time to draw that at some point. Same goes for the swimsuits, and maybe a Christmas/Hearth's Warming theme as well.
As for the story, the latest chapter is under progress of proofreading and editing right now. I'll probably publish it by the end of the weekend. Keep on the lookout, and until next time,

I WAS JUST WONDERING ABOUT THAT! My best guess is it's like Raricow: Who knows how it started, but it'll eventually die out.

P.S. I'd say do the shining for the reasons you stated. Or do both, but fluer is giving shining a jealous look as hers hangs a bit. Food for thought.
Here's what I have gathered.
The sweaters are called "keyhole sweaters". In anime, it was a common "Moe" practice to dress large-breasted female characters in sweaters with vertical lines on them because the lines on the sweater conform to their "endowments," thus making them appear larger than they already are. Sleeveless sweaters like these used to be the popular type, but now I guess it's keyholes. If I had to take a guess as to why, I'd say that the mild exposure of cleavage combined with the flattering vertical lines makes for a double whammy of major boobage.
Something about this is weirdly hilarious.

2652419 Probably as old as when clop was created. As for why big breasts is a thing, answers vary I suppose. I mean heck, breasts in fiction have been depicted to inflate, lactate (even when they're not pregnant), and/or if someone's really creative, literally fucked in the tits. Who knows what other crazy fetishes/actions are yet to be discovered?
Okay, so I've found a know your meme page about this sweater, and the trend's surprisingly more new than I thought it would be. It looks like 2651424 had the gist of this, and we have the japanese (or more specifically, the first japanese cosplayer to take a selfie with this sweater) to thank for it.
It is also being popular Japan recently. They call it "opened-breast turtleneck(θΈιγγΏγΌγγ«γγγ―), or just "The thing". It becomes a trend in one or two weeks.
We have exposed side of the breasts, bottom of the breasts, and now it is a turn for a top. And all of them looks more erotic than full exposure. Such a weird brain we have.
