I'm annoyed to a new level because of this. As if pony creator itself wasn't a sad excuse for people to say "oh i cant arts :ccccc"
Well here's to you: There's TONS of pony images you can choose from the WHOLE internet, and yet you have to create a fucking 'monstrosity' in that thing. Not that I'm hating on the designer of it, I'm hating the people who use it. You would've done the world a huge favor, General Zoi, if only you would've deleted the first version of your creator, a hell of a favor. People would actually try and find a way to get their 'badass OC!!!11' as their avatars/cover arts. If you can't art, like most of the people in this site, you could simply use a simple tool called Google and search your desired image. Can't find it? Well, too bad for you pal. If you're whining about how the world can't see your 'awesum ogrerly amazeeing OC' then kindly please fuck off.
I'm tired of this.

On the topic of using a pony creator for coverart, I can see an instance where it would be useful... but only the 3D version. That would be if you wanted to make the coverart look like a file sheet with an image, but then, it would still take some good work in PS, Gimp, or another such program to make it look decent.

General zoi covers are a predictor of quality but not a guarantee. Heck one of my stories--which people who actually read it generally liked--for down voted bombed just because it was about my (totally not Gary Stu) OC with the cover art being my profile picture.

These are generally stories in which the author couldn't find a proper cover art (or didn't have the money for a commission, or didn't want to request it, ect.) and well, they just stay blank. Most of these blank stories have received very low like ratio, but there are few of them who have even been featured.
I think it depends on the content and on the author as well. If the author is well known, the story will be well known, regardless of its cover art. Description and comments section will affect the final ratio.

Oh, no, someone used a pony creator to make a cover art for their My Little Pony fanfiction. What an outrage. My entire life is ruined now forever, all thanks to someone's mediocre cover art for their mediocre fanfiction that doesn't really have any effect on my life whatsoever.

In case you haven't noticed yet, this has been escalating ever since that creator was made. The overly used style and overall shitty reception it has brought is what pisses me off. Wanna use a pony creator cover art? Well suuuure not my problem, but wait for the rain of downvotes and obvious ex-TWE members to rain down on your story. Again, not my problem.
Every time most people see a story with that kind of cover art they immediately think the story is going to be shit (which in most to all cases that's the way it goes), it has implanted that idea on every writer that has been in here for a good while.
Not getting that pissed about this, at this point in time it's just so retarded and shows no originality whatsoever for whoever uses it.
