Contest Result

Well, I didn't win the July UKoE Writing Contest — that honour went to Blueshift.

However: I did come in joint second along with everyone else, so that's something. At first part of me couldn't help but feel that Blueshift's impressive follower count helped him in some way, but then Blade Star helpfully suggested two other reasons why I didn't win:

So, yeah, let's go with that. When in doubt, blame RealityCheck.

But seriously, though, congratulations to Blueshift. Anyhoo, this months theme is 'Summer Holiday' — so I might write something for that. Then again, I might not. I was hoping for the prompt to be birthday related, since mine is on the 25th (the day submissions close), but I guess I can't have it all.

As for Button Mash Goes To A Slumber Party, well... I guess I need to either extend it, or write a sequel.

Which would you prefer? Well, let's find out! I've posted a comment below — upvote it if you'd prefer a sequel, or downvote it if you'd rather I added to the already existing story.

I don't really mind either way, though I'd prefer that the existing chapter was left alone (minor tweaks aside) given that it was a contest entry. But extra chapters here or a separate sequel would both be fine by me. :)

That is why I didn't post a link to the comp or ask people to vote in my blog, I didn't want people to think that! If anything, I'm less known on the UKofE forums, where the actual voting was!

With regards to your story, I'd say extend rather than sequel, if only because any sequel would feel more like a 'chapter 2' given that the story is setup for a larger story.
